Is there a good time for you this week? I just got back from Cedar Hills courts. One of them is really good! It has about 3-4in sand, the net is about right. Not bad.

Hi volleyball fans:
Oops...glitch in my computer...sorry...
Anyway, the major source of volleyball is the Columbia Empire Region for
southwestern Washington and all of Oregon...look up usavolleyball.org click on
region (map) click on the state, and that should get you into the info source
for
where the regional office is located and the number.
If that is not what you are looking for, then any park department in your
area should have something going on in the fall or know of where to play...
Seaside (on the coast about 2 hrs west of Portland) has a major sand tourney
this weekend, 08-10 August so come on down and network...lots of folks from
Seattle go down and it is one big volleyball event...
Good luck...

Hopefully I understood your message right. You want to put together a pre-season v-ball tournament for middle school/high school kids? And you want to know how to get those kids from all over the Portland area involved? When I attended middle school/high school...don't ask how long ago, we would get these flyers from our coaches with v-ball camp/games/tournaments. I would suggest you make a flyer with the date/time/fees (if any) maybe a contact phone/email for pre-registration, and send it out to the local schools, attn V-ball coaches....then maybe follow up with a phone call. Alot of work on your part, but it would be great for the kids and extra practice - with all the cut backs now days, I am sure everyone would appreciate the extra few days in the gym. Good luck, and if you need a volunteer, depending on the time/date of this event, contact me, I would love to give the schools my time. I have twin boys (3 1/2) and would like to keep sports alive hopefully for them to enjoy when they go to school.
My name is Sean Belveal, I am the Program Director at the North Porltand Boys and Girls Club. I have been coaching volleyball for the last two years for a local middle school. I have very little experiance with Volleyball, for my strenghts happen to be in football and baseball. I also have spent some time putting together tournements. SO I am writing this post to see exactly how I would go about putting an end of the summer, pre-season torunement together for club volleyball at the middle school and high school levels. I have the gyms, the refs, and I would love to get involved in putting on tournements in the Portland Are with Volleyball. Please respond with any questions, comments, or concerns. other than the fact that I can't spell :)

I am Chuck, in Newport. I just wanted to wish you good luck and great success in your quest to make the varsity. I am a former coach at Newport High, and I am well aware of the work and sacrifice it takes to make the varsity team, and then doubling those efforts as a team to have success and a look at college.
I can't help you find a practice group, but I am pretty good on the recommendations for physical training, etc if you ever have any questions. If you ever come to Newport, there are several groups here that play and have fun, and several outstanding players who were on the Portland State National Championship teams. They are now coaching our programs from 5th grade on. We anticipate that in the not-too-distant future, Newport will become a perennial powerhouse.
I hope you find what you are looking for. Please feel free to write, or send me questions. I am a huge proponent of volleyball, having refereed for 8 years and coached for 8 more. I even played some, in our COED leagues until my knees went on strike.
