Extreme Volleyball Pros Make First Visit to Seaside Beach
The Extreme Volleyball Professionals tour embraces Seaside, OR as a
host city, Saturday, June 30, for the first time in their 14-season
history— the midpoint of 22 cross-country stops! The traveling, two-
on-two beach volleyball series, better known as the EVP Tour,
features men's and women's professional divisions.
The Northwest Womens Pro Team of Kelly Russell and Ally Leavitt, Mens
Pro Team of Brian Chapman and Matt Mueller, showcase their West Coast
style, challenging other well-built, bronzed, EVP Pros like 2006
Players of the Year Rasa Virsilaite and Mike Dauernheim, in a double-
elimination format, for more than $5,000.
Families and fans are encouraged not only to take in the action, but
also take part in spectator games that are unique to the EVP's day-at-
the-beach-style event. For example, the Bump in the Bucket Contest
gives lucky onlookers the chance to win EVP gear—even the opportunity
to win a trip to the World Finals in Honolulu, Hawaii!
During the event, through 6pm on Seaside Beach , fans actually meet
pro players and try free volleyball clinics! Matt Heath of team
Charleston reminds, "You get to watch great athletes who perform at
the highest level, athletes who work hard all year, and come down to
perform in a new arena. It's a great way to meet athletes, learn
about the game, and the beach volleyball community is pretty nice.
You won't run into too many people who won't give you pointers."
All registration must be done by email through Tournament Director,
Brian Chapman at: probeachusa@....
