I am Chuck, in Newport. I just wanted to wish you good luck and great success in your quest to make the varsity. I am a former coach at Newport High, and I am well aware of the work and sacrifice it takes to make the varsity team, and then doubling those efforts as a team to have success and a look at college.
I can't help you find a practice group, but I am pretty good on the recommendations for physical training, etc if you ever have any questions. If you ever come to Newport, there are several groups here that play and have fun, and several outstanding players who were on the Portland State National Championship teams. They are now coaching our programs from 5th grade on. We anticipate that in the not-too-distant future, Newport will become a perennial powerhouse.
