Maybe too late to give as a holiday gift, but no worries - give it to yourself!
I haven't laid my hands on a copy, but mine is ordered. Looking through the "society members" (contributors) easily convinced me that this is an open water or any swimmer's must have new book! Pretty sure it is well worth the price. And if that is your hesitation, just use your heart instead of your mind - and support your fellow swimmer with a purchase!
I didn't see a "rating" for the book... but Charlie Gravett is a contributor! Smoothing out any wrinkle he might have made(!), is the writing of my friends Lynne Cox, Bill Wygant, Leslie Thomas, Kerry O'Brien, and Alison Streeter (well I do know and love her!).
I'm sure you might find a contributing friend or two in the list also!
Jim Miller, thank you for making this very special project happen. Recording these pieces is so important in preserving the history of our sport! I nominate you... for whatever award they give for special service and or contribution to swimming!
