Hey Paul, God and I talked it over decided the greater charity is not to stop suddenly in the midst of a peloton for road change.  Got the dime at Fox Park while we were waiting, and a penny in the Western Springs Starbucks.  And, of course, you saw me pick up the quarter at Blockbuster.

Notwithstanding, don't let this dissuade you from chipping in a dollar for the Heiffer Fund....

I'm not enthusiastic about a 90 mile road race, but am willing to join you for some hard training.

I will be in Wisconsin the day after Thanksgiving again this year.  I regret not being able to make the ride.

Actually, I'm not complaining, I'm trying to set up John and Guillermo not to expect too much out of us the day after Thanksgiving.  It's true I was disappointed to see my fitness has fallen off so much, but in all other respects I was thankful for the ride and the beautiful day.

Paul Nowak will not be interested to know that my gratitude also extends to the 11 cents that God dropped on me for the Heifer Fund.

Well you know Steve, speed isn't all it's cracked up to be. It was
pretty good ride if you ask me.

Cheers,

Even if this ride comes off, I can't believe it will be as arduous as
last year's.

Guillermo, Paul F., Bill and I went to Clarendon Hills and the best we
could manage was a tepid 15.1 average.  We wouldn't have gotten up that
high if Guillermo hadn't put the hammer down -- in a relative way of
speaking -- on the way home, fearful that we'd get back with a 14 MPH
average.  It was a beautiful day for a ride, despite the headwind, but
a pitiful performance.  Seems like we're all winding down for the
winter.

Here's hoping we get the chance to redeem ourselves the day after
Thanksgiving.

We ride as long as there's no ice on the roads....it' s all about the
layers and wool socks...a shot of espresso before you walk out the door
and hot ginger tea on board helps too.

Sorry I'm still going to be healing.  I don't know what I'm going to do to fend off the traditional post-Thanksgiving Hangover instead of a ride.  I might actually have to curtail the pre-dinner Guinness and Jameson's this year.

Oh well, January 1 is not all that far away, and I will be doing my traditional Welcome in to the New Year ride.  Fun to interpolate 30 miles by noon = 20,000+ for the year!

Forecast is for 50 degrees and clear on Saturday.  Anyone up for a

ride?  0630 has been a convenient departure time in the past, so how

about that?  Can anyone do 40 miles anymore, or should we set our

sights lower?  I'm flexible.

Life is good.

pretty good ride if you ask me.

Downer's Grove we would have a quartered headwind going out and a

partial tailwind coming back.

Forecast is for 50 degrees and clear on Saturday.  Anyone up for a

ride?  0630 has been a convenient departure time in the past, so how

about that?  Can anyone do 40 miles anymore, or should we set our

sights lower?  I'm flexible.

Even if this ride comes off, I can't believe it will be as arduous as last year's.

Guillermo, Paul F., Bill and I went to Clarendon Hills and the best we could manage was a tepid 15.1 average.  We wouldn't have gotten up that high if Guillermo hadn't put the hammer down -- in a relative way of speaking -- on the way home, fearful that we'd get back with a 14 MPH average.  It was a beautiful day for a ride, despite the headwind, but a pitiful performance.  Seems like we're all winding down for the winter.

Here's hoping we get the chance to redeem ourselves the day after Thanksgiving.

We ride as long as there's no ice on the roads....it' s all about the layers and wool socks...a shot of espresso before you walk out the door and hot ginger tea on board helps too.

We'll see what the weather is like when the day comes, but in the
meantime, it's a good idea to pencil this in on the calendar.  Last
year's ride was hard, but it felt vituous after all the overindulging.

Forecast is for 50 degrees and clear on Saturday.  Anyone up for a

ride?  0630 has been a convenient departure time in the past, so how

about that?  Can anyone do 40 miles anymore, or should we set our

sights lower?  I'm flexible.

Again, you continue to impress us all.  Older than dirt and still kicking!  Seriously, I only hope I can be putting in 2,000+ miles on my bike by the time I’m 65.

Hit 2000 miles on the bike for the season with this morning's ride.  I'm sure I've done it before, but I never kept track.  This year, I just happened to reset my cyclometer at the season's start.  Also, I was considerably younger when I did it before.  About the age of Paul Hitterman, Forsythe, Nowak, etc.

Ah, youth.

Anyone else keep track this year?  Bill Kahn has to have exceeded 2 thou.  The man's been a maniac this year.
