Cristiano Ronaldo is full of confidence and targeting another 42-goal
haul this season.
The Manchester United winger achieved that remarkable achievement
last term, helping the Red Devils claim Premier League and UEFA
Champions League glory.
A summer ankle operation curtailed his involvement at the start of
this season, although he has been back to his sparkling best of late.
A brace in a 2-0 midweek win against West Ham took his tally for the
2008/09 campaign to five in 10 games, with the Portuguese superstar
hoping his recent fine form in front of goal continues.
"I know it's very difficult to score 42 goals again, but I believe in
myself and in my colleagues," said Ronaldo.
"I'm training the same and I hope to do the same or better."
Ronaldo's performances last season have already seen him awarded the
FIFPro World Player of the Year for 2008, while he remains the clear
favourite to be named the best player on the planet by Fifa at a
glittering ceremony in Zurich on 12th January.
