Seasons Greetings Harriers and Harriettes

The Santa Lucia run which is usually hosted by our infamous Swedes lead by Navigator, Desire and Also Desirable will this year be re-modelled as they've disappeared to Europe.  So your very own Blown Fuse and Fat Wad will carry on this fine tradition (and perhaps the Queen of Sweden will show up or send a representative). They will try to duplicate the Santa Lucia run in the Indian style.

So bring your Santa hats and tinsel and whatever Xmas attire you can think of - preferably red and white - and of course be ready for "holy spirit cocktails" at the holds.  And yes, in their drunken effort they may even attempt to concoct the famous Swedish meat balls and veg dishes etc - or failing that a good old curry.

If you get time please watch this clip on YOU TUBE  - you might just be asked to sing this song in the circle.

HOW TO GET THERE:

From Westlands get to Lower Kabete road. Pass Sarit Centre on left, Peponi road on right and continue on Lower Kabete road  until you get to the Shopping centre with a Total fuel station on left. After the shopping centre continue straight on and then take the first left turn where right opposite is General Mathege road. Go up a steep short road and at the end , turn right. The hare's hole is the second gate on the left.

If you get lost you can call
Blown fuse: 0722-700520
Fat Wad - 0734 434324

See you there

Dont forget to bring 120 KSh to buy your hash calendar for 2010 (2 pages A3 format).

Collectors item, only 25 copies printed. The photos look exceptionally ugly and colorful this year.

Hash 518 on Monday 7th Dec will be hosted by Glossy at her place on
Kombe Road, off Bogani Road in Karen.

From town take Langata Road out past Wilson airport, KWS and Bomas of
Kenya (that's at the junction where Magadi Road branches off to the
left). Stay straight on Langata Road. 1.8 km after Bomas of Kenya,
turn left onto Langata South Road. After 1.6 km turn right onto
Bogani Road. Then after 1.2 km turn right onto Kombe Road. Glossy's
place is 500 m down on the left - two mabati gates and Hash marks.

From Dagoretti Corner taken Ngong Road heading towards Karen. Pass
the race course and keep going. After the forest and the dip, go
another 1 km then branch left onto Karen Road (just before the petrol
station). After 1.9 km, at the junction with Langata Road, go
straight across (awkward X-roads). Continue past Karen Club (on
left), Karen Blixen Coffee Garden (on right) and Karen Blixen House
(on right). Then sharp left onto Bogani Road. From that sharp left
it's 2.6 km to your next turn. Basically you stay on Bogani Road with
no turns, passing Quarry Lane on left, Ndege Road on left and Masai
Lane on right. The road goes through some bends then straightens out
again. Halfway down the long straight, look for Tamasha Joint (a bar)
on the right, and opposite Tamasha turn left onto Kombe Road.
Glossy's place is 500 m down on the left - two mabati gates and Hash
marks.

Report by 5.30 pm, run at 5.45 pm. Shs 400 as usual.

It's not as far as you think and half the schools are out so traffic
should be manageable.

Dear ONHHHashers,

Further to a meeting of the Mismanagement last night, it has been
decided to reduce the price of Hash beer vouchers so you can now buy
12 for 500/- instead of 10 for 500/-. As before, one voucher will buy
you a soda and two will buy you a beer. The vouchers are available in
books of 12 from the Brewmeister, currently Munchie Munchie.

If you pay cash for your drinks then the price is 50/- for a soda and
100/- for a beer.

Please be sure to pay for all drinks at the Hash, and make sure
Virgins and friends understand the system and do the same. Hares are
encouraged to have someone to operate the bar for them, to cover for
the ignorant, forgetful, dishonest and disorderly amongst us...

Happy Drinking!

Dear ONH3ers,

It's that time of the year again when we celebrate Thanks Giving! (OK
at least some of us do)

Homebrew will be hosting the Thanks Giving run on Monday 23rd Nov at
his hole in Rosslyn Ridge off Limuru road. Expect a good and fun run
and - if we're lucky - some home-brew!!

A security check may be conducted at the gate so we suggest you come
wearing your best inner wear.

DIRECTIONS:
Get yourself to Village Market on Limuru road (trusting that you all
know where that is) and just after the Village Market on the right, go
on straight as if you are heading to Runda Estate. However, 100 metres
or so before Runda Estate take a right turn onto a cabro paved road.
This road can also lead you to Rosslyn Academy. OK! Keep on this
cabro road and Rosslyn Ridge Estate is the first big gate on right.
You can't miss it - KK GUARDS ON GUARD!

Where:        High Fly's 'Buffalo Rest' in Green Park, a 110-minute drive from Nairobi.
When:         28-29 Nov
Why:           Because Germans always celebrate Novemberfest! What's that you say - Oktoberfest?   Nein, mein herr, now it's Novemberfest! Why, you ask? Because High Fly was in bloody Krautland in Oktober, that's why!

includes Kitty subsidy).  Ksh 2,500/person for friends, visitors, hangers-on and degenerates who are not ONH3 regulars (no kitty subsidy).

From House Husband (stefan@...)

On Sunday we went to see Mo Faya, the new Musical by Eric Wainaina.  I know we shouldn’t misuse the Hash mail list for these kind of adverts, but I think it’s really worth going (and it was quite empty on Sunday).  Great show.  More on this below.

mo-faya-the-musical

Eric Wainaina’s Mo Faya: “A Ghetto Story” is currently being performed at the GoDown; the highly entertaining musical drama gives us a slice of life in a ghetto in Kenya and features a lively mix of reggae and African rhythms coupled with energetic and highly compelling choreography, in a blend that is bound to light up the stage. The show runs every week, Wednesday to Sunday, until December 20th

DJ Lwanda’s voice rings out daily on local radio, leading and inspiring the Nairobi community of Kwa Maji. But Anna Mali, an avaricious real estate diva, craves the land beneath their slum. She seduces the fiery young DJ away with a job at a top nationwide station, and organizes a violent campaign to terrorize the people of Kwa Maji. When the government and media turn a blind eye to the decapitated bodies in the streets, DJ Lwanda must return home to expose the truth. But at what cost?

Performed in English with Swahili.

Those of you who Hashed at Dipstick's will have heard Dog announce our
500th run weekend on 28th/29th Nov.

To avoid confusion, or possibly to add to it, note that this is the
SAME as High Fly's Novemberfest weekend in Naivasha, not a separate
event. It's krazy krauts and auspicious anniversaries all wrapped up
in one.

Shs 1,500 for ONH3 regulars; Shs 2,500 for non-regulars. Add Shs
1,500 if you need a tent. Confirmations to owenmg@...

Digit will be heading a convoy out of Nairobi on the morning of 28th
for those unsure of the way. Details later.
