Run no. 282? – Where have all the hashers gone?

It was a pretty small crowd of hashers that collected in the car park
of the Dambusters club on Lenana road, in spite of the late afternoon
sunshine and last minute arrangements courtesy of Dog, Electrocuted
and Nuisance.

After brief instructions from Dog, the assembled masses (!) dodged
the rush hour traffic and followed the trail off the highway and onto
a maze of dirt tracks in the twilight zone of this leafy suburban
neighbourhood. After much prompting from Nuisance to keep the small
pack together the trail wound through the back roads behind Lenana
and brought us out past the Cellar to the top of Argwings Kodhek,
where we halted for a hold at which the hares attempted to rally the
troops for the second half of the run.

Our already depleted numbers were reduced further by the short-
cutters who set off on-home, while the hardened few continued on
across Argwings Kodhek and zig-zagged back through the evening
commuters to a well-earned beverage back at the Dambusters.

Our faithful RA, Dog, opened the circle with a rather confused
rendition of `Singing in the Rain', after which he proceeded to
congratulate the hares on their run. Maid Merry On was charged for
not having company on her birthday, while Rider earned a down-down
for something or other and Pagan Virgin was punished for allegedly
trying to change her name to something to do with pigeons (?). The
briefest circle on record was then brought to a close by a welcome
back for Uranus, before we all retired to the benches to eat the
copious amounts of food.

The mystery of the missing hashers was finally solved following the
late arrival of Wally who announced that at least 10 of our number
had mistakenly joined the big hash. The moral of the story being,
never expect hashers to read their e-mail if they already think they
know where they're going.

Note from your e-scribe.
I will try to upload a few photos of past runs, all of them less than
100kb. If you want originals (they may get as big as 2 Mb), I can
email them, or put them on your CDrw / memory STICK (use my email
address J.Naessens@...).
Or you wait until they get printed in the annual magazine.
