ONH3ers!
We're still waiting to fill names onto our team rosters. We'd like to have two teams of 9 and a few alternates. Please get in touch with Outrigger, Nuisance and/or Dog (see last announcement for their email addresses or call).
Costs:
Pretty simple and not a lot.
1,500/ per person: this covers registration fees; Hells Gate entry; a catered dinner and breakfast at Burch's Camp. Mismanagement will provide beer and sodas. We'll have some water but you may want to pack some of your own. Stay hydrated and all that.....
500/ per person if you are NOT driving. When you pop into a vehicle that morning to start-out, pls. hand your Hasher driver a 500 to defray the costs of fuel, etc. If you pop into another car during the day and have already paid, don't pay again.
Accommodations: Burch's Camp
Please send your choice of accommodations to Outrigger (tray@...) immediately so that we can book Burch's. There are four choices:
1. a Chalet (luxury cottage): set off from the campsite each unit has two beds upstairs in a loft and two downstairs. There is a lower level hot shower and sink/toilet along with a kitchen. Linens/blnaket/towels are provided. There are two of these left. Cost: 3,000/ if 4 people; 2,600/ if 3 people; 2,200/ if two people.
2. a Cottage: sleeps two to four. Has a sink and toliet. No shower so you'll use the communal showers. Cost: 1,500/ for 4 people; 1,200/ for 3; 900/ for two. No linens or towels so bring your own. There are five of these.
3. a Rondavel: very basic with two beds. No linens/towels or toilet. Cost: 600/ for two people. There are five of these.
4. Tent camping: unlimited. 200/ per person. If you don't have gear, Watreloo may be able to rent you some from Outdoor Africa.
The campsite area is totally fenced in to keep the hippos out and the crazies in. Hot water and toilets in the communal shower area - boys and girls are separated. There is a covered dining area where Waterloo will serve us gormet food. We'll also have a fire pit to sit around and tell the day's stories. Unfortunately we won't be able to see the RA go up in flames as in past years.
When I get the bookings, I will send out another email with directions, etc.
Each is responsible for settling your own acounts Sunday a.m. with Ester and James, who run the campsite.
We will meet at Damian Kilshaw's place in Karen early Saturday morning 6ish - we will send you directions - and figure-out who's riding with whom. Cars may be left at Damian's. PLEASE LET ONE OF US KNOW IF YOU CAN DRIVE AND HOW MANY PASSENGERS YOU CAN TAKE WITH YOU. IF YOU WISH TO DRIVE YOU MUST HAVE A STURDY 4WD VEHICLE WITH SPARES.
Okay, we'll continue to have updates. Please contact us as soon as possible. Cheers and On On!!!!
