I have to admit I know nothing of this competition but have heard over the years that Dagenham, Luton & St Albans were involved in it. Also Tommy Price, first English World Champion, was in the Luton team, but cannot say any of this is for certain or provide any proof of these items. Without proof "I know nothing" and will not make it up to suit myself.

NORWICH STARS - 1930 / 2009 - The Memories Still Linger
Tommy Price (Wembley) - not Tom Price (Belle Vue) rode at Luton in 1935. Another
in that side was the South African rider Keith Harvey. Is then when the Sunday
Amateur Dirt Track League operated and not 1938?

I am positive this league only operated in 1938. However, I cannot seem find any
indications of its members although I think an Eastburne team inclding Danny Lee
and Tiger Hart were members.

The league ran in 1938 and Eastbourne won an incomplete competition. Also in the
league were Rye House, Smallford, Dagenham and Romford (the latter were based at
Dagenham).

On the assumption that Luton only operated in 1935 (?) with strong links to
Wembley, it appears possible that a Sunday Dirt Track League ran that season,
probably similar to the 1938 competition already under debate.
Is there further information in this regard for 1935?
