I wouldn't put more than 10hp through that hoffco comet
transmission... it isn't built very well. Last i checked, they did
not advertise it on their website, but had a warehouse full of them.

This is a shift on the fly transmission... kind of expensive

Powertec sells one.. www.kimballproducts.com is their url. I tried
one once-- it is built well, but the shifter is on the same side as
the input shaft for the torque converter... so you had to use the 40
series or smaller (or sprockets). Otherwise, it was fine.
They use these transmissions on a large utility vehicle.

You may find it more economical to find a polaris transmission off
ebay and modify the shafting on it to fit in a cart.

I called Hoffco/Comet a couple of years ago and was able to purchase a couple of their forward/reverse gearboxes. I have one them on a 600lb. Kart with 22 hp....
