I called Hoffco/Comet a couple of years ago and was able to purchase a
couple of their forward/reverse gearboxes. I have one them on a 600lb.
Kart with 22 hp. The first thing that broke was the plastic shift lever.
The second was a sliding gear inside became stuck in forward. After
making a replacement lever and unsticking the gear, it has worked fine.
At Hoffco, I spoke to a Dean Sproles. 800-999-8161 ext 148. You might

Hello, first post. I have been researching previous messages looking
for info on a foward reverse gearbox. Found a few, but nothing
definate. There was a link to comet industries, but it was dead, and
could'nt find any mention of a F.R. gearbox at their website. If any
one has any info, I would appreciate it. Also building a 500cc kart,
