I never really believed Kim deserves to have him. I hope it doesn't
affect his performance though; i am not ready for another week of
sadness; it always happens to me anytime he looses a match.

I know that my article is not related to this group, but it might be useful.
PLEASE read it.

The message of Islam is for the entire human race.

According to Islam, Allah is the God of the entire world and Prophet Muhammad
(peace and blessings be upon him) is a messenger for the whole of mankind.

According to Islam, all men are equal, whatever be their color, language, race
or nationality. Islam addresses itself to the conscience of humanity and
banishes all false barriers of race, status and wealth. There can be no denying
the fact that such barriers have always existed, and do exist even today in this
so-called enlightened age. Islam, however, removes all these impediments and
proclaims the idea of the whole of humanity being one family of God.

Islam is international in its outlook and approach. It does not admit barriers
and distinctions based on color, clan, blood or territory such as were prevalent
before the advent of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). These are
rampant in different forms, even in this modern age.

Islam is a way of life that transcends race and ethnicity. The Glorious Qur’an
repeatedly reminds us of our common origin: (O mankind! We created you from a
single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that
ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most
honored of you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And
God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).

(Al-Hujrat: 13)

The eradication of race consciousness is one of the outstanding moral
achievements of Islam. In the contemporary world there is, as it happens, a
crying need for the propagation of this Islamic virtue. It is conceivable that
the spirit of Islam might be the timely reinforcement, which would decide this
issue in favor of tolerance and peace, the historian A.J. Toynbee wrote in his
book Civilization on Trial.

Islam unites the entire human race under one banner. To a world torn by national
rivalries and feuds, it presents a message of life and hope, and of a glorious
future

hey all,

i think its fantastic that lleyton made it all the way to the finals
of the us open. its proof that he is on his way back to number 1 and
the fact that he didnt drop a set until he met with federer (who by
the way is a phenomenal tennis player) goes to show all those critics
out there who said that he couldnt get back up to form what a great
player he still is.

and by the way, those religious messages are getting really boring
and old, guys, if you could stick to your own groups it would be
great.

take care

Please forgive us for any disturbance, but we have an important subject
to address to you regarding FAITH, and we Don't intend to overload your email
with unnecessary messages...

Islam: Misunderstood throughout the World

James A. Bill (professor of government and director of the Reves Center for
International Studies at the College of William and Mary in Virginia) writes -
'By the turn of the century, for the first time in history, the number of
Muslims (those who practice Islam) will have surpassed the number of Christians
in the world.
Islam is a monotheistic religion, civilization and way of life now practiced by
1.1 billion people. Easily the world's fastest growing religion, Islam is not
confined to the Middle East. It is a truly universal force. More Muslims live in
America today than all the Presbyterians and Episcopalians put together.

There are more than 1,200 mosques in the United States and 1000 mosques in
England, where the Muslim community has established its own national parliament.
There are more Muslims in Indonesia than in Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Saudi
Arabia put together. More live in Malaysia than in Jordan, Lebanon and Kuwait
combined. Nearly 20 million Muslims live in China.

Wherever one looks, Islam is on the move. As the people of many societies find
themselves rootless, disconnected and alienated, they increasingly seek help in
a comforting Islamic ideological refuge. In a world of incoherent violence,
widening inequities, political corruption and shattered families, many are
massing behind the green flag of Islam. This is essentially a populist movement,
a bubbling up from below, a march of the distressed, the dispossessed and the
oppressed. ....

… Although the great bulk of Muslims seek to improve their status through quiet,
moderate and pacific means, violent methods have been adopted by fringe
groups—elements also present in Christianity and Judaism. Oblivious to their own
profound ignorance and often harboring crude political motivations, many Western
opinion leaders consistently label all Muslims with words such as 'aggressive',
'militant' and 'uncivilized'. Islam is the 'religion of the sword'; Muslim
activists are 'terrorists,' and Muslims countries that challenge Western
policies are 'outlaw states'.

Muslims themselves maintain quite a different worldview. It is in the deepest
interest of the United States to attempt to understand this perspective. In
brief, Muslims see themselves as the afflicted, not the afflictors; they feel
themselves desperately on the defensive, not on the offensive; they consider
themselves the objects of violence, not the initiators of violence. In sum,
Muslims across the world consider themselves victims. In support of their
position, Muslims will take their Christian and Jewish neighbors on a quick tour
of the world. They inevitably begin with Bosnia, where nearly 200,000 Muslims
have been slaughtered by Serbian Christians. Muslims are horrified and sickened
by the fact that 22,000 Muslim women, aged 9 to 82, have been raped by Christian
troopers. Muslims wonder privately about the weak and very late Western
response.

In Kashmir, Indian occupying forces violently oppress Muslims, killing thousands
of Kashmiris. Elsewhere in India in December 1992 and January 1993, violent
Hindu mobs went on a rampage in Bombay, killing over 800 Muslims, destroying
5000 Muslim homes and forcing 200,000 Muslims to flee the city. Mosques were
firebombed and mothers watched as their sons were pulled from their homes and
slain or burned alive. In Tajikstan and other places in Central Asia, the
Communists have made a comeback and, with the help of Russian troops, have
attacked and killed more than 20,000 Muslims. Another 350,000 have been forced
to flee.

Even in China, Muslims find themselves under heavy military pressure. Chinese
troops oppress Muslims in the western province of Xinjiang.

In Algeria, when the Islamists scored a surprise victory in the December 1991
elections, the regime declared the election null and void. Since then, Algeria
has been the scene of a bloody civil war. The government blames Islamic
fundamentalists of striking terror in the very same areas where they had
received majority of votes from. The governments explanation of fundamentalists
unleashing waves of terror in their own strongholds, sounds very plausible
indeed and casts shadows of dound over the credentials of the secular government
instead.

A vicious cycle of misunderstanding, misguided policy and increasing violence
has been set in motion. Before this vicious cycle begins to spin wildly out of
control, it is essential that non-Muslims make a major effort to slow it down.
Such an effort will, as the very first step, require that stereotypes be
discarded.

Second, recent history shows that the application of force is not always an
effective way of countering a system of deeply held ideas and beliefs. The
steady flame of resurgent Islam will not be extinguished by the breeze of
bullets or the blast of missiles. A recently published report in Washington
Post, confirms Islam to be the fastest growing religion in the United States
despite hostile government policies and negative media stereotyping, only goes
on to prove the truth of this statement. It is time for everyone to take a crash
course on Islam. More recently, CNN too published a report, first of US kind
ever done in this part of the World, titled as: Islam in US - Growing and
maturing

May you read my article please. I know it has nothing to do with this group but
it may open your mind about thing that you don't know.
Human Rights and Justice in Islam

Islam provides many human rights for the individual. The following are some of
these human rights that Islam protects.
The life and property of all citizens in an Islamic state are considered sacred,
whether a person is Muslim or not. Islam also protects honor. So, in Islam,
insulting others or making fun of them is not allowed. The Prophet Muhammad
said: {Truly your blood, your property, and your honor are inviolable.}
Racism is not allowed in Islam, for the Quran speaks of human equality in the
following terms:
O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female and have made you into
nations and tribes for you to know one another. Truly, the noblest of you with
God is the most pious. Truly, God is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (Quran, 49:13)
Islam rejects certain individuals or nations being favored because of their
wealth, power, or race. God created human beings as equals who are to be
distinguished from each other only on the basis of their faith and piety. The
Prophet Muhammad said: {O people! Your God is one and your forefather (Adam) is
one. An Arab is not better than a non-Arab and a non-Arab is not better than an
Arab, and a red (i.e. white tinged with red) person is not better than a black
person and a black person is not better than a red person, except in piety.}
One of the major problems facing mankind today is racism. The developed world
can send a man to the moon but cannot stop man from hating and fighting his
fellow man. Ever since the days of the Prophet Muhammad , Islam has provided a
vivid example of how racism can be ended. The annual pilgrimage (Hajj) to Makkah
shows the real Islamic brotherhood of all races and nations, when about two
million Muslims from all over the world come to Makkah to perform the
pilgrimage.
Islam is a religion of justice. God has said:
Truly God commands you to give back trusts to those to whom they are due, and
when you judge between people, to judge with justice.... (Quran, 4:58)
And He has said:
...And act justly. Truly, God loves those who are just. (Quran, 49:9)
We should even be just with those who we hate, as God has said:
...And let not the hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is
nearer to piety.... (Quran, 5:8)
The Prophet Muhammad said: {People, beware of injustice, for injustice shall be
darkness on the Day of Judgment.}
And those who have not gotten their rights (i.e. what they have a just claim to)
in this life will receive them on the Day of Judgment, as the Prophet said: {On
the Day of Judgment, rights will be given to those to whom they are due
.

What if you find a watch in the sand

Suppose you found a watch in the middle of the desert. What would you conclude?
Would you think someone dad dropped the watch? Or would you suppose that the
watch came by itself?

Of course, no sane person would say the watch just happened to emerge from the
sand. All the intricate working parts could not simply develop from the metals
that lay buried in the earth. The watch must have a manufacturer.

If a watch tells an accurate time, we expect the manufacturer must be
intelligent. Blind chance cannot produce a working watch.

But what else tells accurate time? Consider the sunrise and the sunset. Their
timings are so strictly regulated that scientistscan publish in advance the
sunrise and sunset times in your daily newspaper, but who regulated the timings
of sunrise and sunset? If a watch cannot work without an intelligent maker, how
can the sun appear to rise and set with such clockwork regularity? Could this
occur by itself?

Consider also that we benefit from the sun only because it remains at a safe
distance from the earth. A distances that averages 93 million miles. If it get
much closer, the earth would burn up. And if it got too far away, the earth
would turn into an icy planet making human life here impossible. Who decided in
advance that this was the right distance? Could it just happen by chance.

Withuot the sun, plants would not grow. Then animals and humans wouls starve.
Did the sun just decide to be there for us?

We need to experience sunrise. We need the sun energy and its light to see our
way during the day. But we also need sunset. We need a break for the heat, we
need the cool of the night and we need the lights to go out so we may sleep. Who
regulated this process to provide what we need?

Moreover, if we had only the warmth of the sun and the protection of the
atmosphere we would want something more-beauty. Our clothes provide warmth and
protection, yet we design them also to look beautiful/knowing our need for
beauty, the designer of the sunrise and the sunset also made the view of them to
be simply breathtaking.

The Creator who gave us light, energy, protection and beauty deserves our
thanks. Yet some people insist that He does not exist. What would they think if
they a watch in the desert? An accurate and working watch? A beautiful designed
watch? Would they not conclude that there does exist a watchmaker. One who
apperciates beauty. Such is God who made us

Discover Islam
Welcome to Exploring Islam

Peace and Blessings of God be upon you! You are now standing at the Gateway of
God's Greatest Gift to Man: Islam, which is the Complete Way of Life as taught
to us by all the Prophets of God.

We request you to enter this portal, with a free mind and a free heart, looking
for God's Truth. Hopefully, this site will help you to get a true understanding
of Islam, which is the Life of about a billion and half people inhabiting our
planet.

You get authentic information about Islam here, so that you have the chance of
knowing what Islam really is. Please have the patience to carefully read the
following pages and compare the information you get here with whatever you had
thought about Islam previously. If required, you can supplement your knowledge
with further reading of the Original Sources of Islam and other books by
scholars who have studied Islam in depth and live in Islam. If you as an
outsider, observe those people who call themselves Muslims, you may not see much
of Islam in them; or their life may misrepresent Islam, as in the case of the
followers of any religion, for that matter. If you want to study what
Christianity is, you go to the great scholars of Christianity as well as to the
Bible, the Holy Book of Christianity. So also in the case of Islam, where you
need to get information about it from the most authentic sources. Then only can
you judge Islam as well as Muslims as to how they really compare with the
followers of other religions, or how they fare in their observance of this Great
Religion.
Introduction:

Islam is the religion decreed for mankind by God*, Who revealed it to His
prophets; and they in turn, taught it to the people around them. The word, Islam
means 'Peace' and also 'Submission to the Will of God'. From the beginning of
mankind on the face of the earth, revelations came to God's chosen prophets; and
the first prophet was the first man, Adam and the last Prophet was Prophet
Muhammad, (peace be upon him), through whom the Religion of God was perfected.
And in between, thousands of prophets came to the peoples who inhabited
different lands in different periods of history. The Holy Qur'an, the Scripture
of Muslims, mentions by name only twenty five of these prophets, of whom the
most important are Abraham (Ibraheem [pbuh]), Moses (Moosa [pbuh]), Noah (Nooh
[pbuh]), Jesus (Eesa [pbuh]) and Muhammad [pbuh].

All these prophets of God taught basically the same message of Islam to their
people.

The word “Islam” today is mostly used to refer to the final form of the Religion
of God taught by the last prophet, Muhammad (pbuh). It is often counted as the
latest of the three monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. In
this sense, Islam emerged in the Arabian peninsula, which we know today as Saudi
Arabia, in 612 C.E. through Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Judaism is believed to be
based on the teachings and the laws of Prophet Moses, while Christianity is said
to take its social and moral codes from the teachings of Prophet Jesus. All
three religions are believed to have their roots in the teachings of the
patriarch Abraham, who also was a great Prophet of God.

The Holy Qur'an states in Chapter 2 (verses, 124-130), that God appointed
Abraham an Imam or leader to the people. But when he prayed to God to bless his
children too, God answered that He would bless only the good among them and not
the evil doers. And God took a covenant from Abraham and his son Ishmael
(Isma'eel [pbuh]) to sanctify the House of God (that is Ka'aba) at Makkah, for
those who come to pray there and compass it around. And Abraham prayed again to
make his children Muslims or people obedient to God; and also to send among them
a Messenger who would rehearse God's signs to them and instruct them in
scripture and wisdom and purify them.

In answer to this prayer of Abraham, God sent a Messenger to the Land of Ka'ba
from among Abraham's own children, and he was the Last Prophet of God, Muhammad
(Peace be on him).

And it was through Muhammad (peace be upon him), that the Guidance of God for
mankind was completed and perfected. Muhammad (peace be on him) taught the
people, the Book of God called the Qur'an, and instructed them as to how they
should lead a life in Submission to God. The details of the Guidance of God
exemplified in the life of the Prophet, are called the Sunnah or the Example of
the Prophet. The Qur'an and the Sunnah together form the foundation of Islam;
and it is on this foundation that the Great House of Islam stands.
