Position Description
Provides support and assists the Head Swim Team Coach and Full-Time
Assistant Swim Team Coach as directed.
Assists with the planning, supervision, administration, direction,
execution, and promotion of a year-round, multilevel competitive
swimming program for a variety of ages.
Assists with the planning, supervision, administration, direction,
execution, and promotion in hosting the MCCS Aquatics Swim Team
meets.
Assists with the Commanding General (CG) Cup Program in regards to
Aquatic events and ensures that all events are conducted in
accordance with current Base Orders and Standing Operating
Procedures.
Resolves complaints and initiates disciplinary actions.
Procures necessary equipment.
Supervises workouts, team members and individual practice groups.
Makes recommendations and expends all reasonable efforts in
achieving the goals.
Ensures that all tenets of EEO and Safety Regulations are followed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Availability, and Goals - Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities
1. Must be (or able to obtain) an American Swim Coaches Association
(ASCA) Level 1 or equivalent (generally entry level coaches with a
minimum of experience and a basic level of education which indludes
ASCA's level 1, Foundations in Coaching).
2. Must possess (or be able to obtain) the American Red Cross (ARC)
CPR, First Aid and Water Safety for Swim Coaches certifications.
3. Must have previous competitive swim team experience.
4. Must possess knowledge or have the ability to learn the
concepts, methods and techniques of competitive swimming as well as
skill in applying the concepts, methods and techniques to achieve
established goals.
5. Must possess (or be able to obtain) a Government Driver's
License.
6. Must be willing and able to travel from base to base and to
other countries.
