That is an awesome achievement David! That is one of the toughest, if not the toughest climb in France... see profile here - avg gradient of 7.1, max of 11 (read the various stories jst under the graph and you can see how daunting this climb really is..) - from km 7 to the top is very, very challenging - 22 km of climbing.. - did you find it to be the hardest climb of your life? Congratulations!
That would be one heck of a descent... Was it harder than the climb up? Where there lots of switchbacks?
Has anyone else climbed Ventoux? Anyone planning on climbing it this year? Maybe you can ask David some questions and get some feedback for your trip... or let him know what you thought of the climb
David, - What tour group did you go with, or are you on your own? - Keep us posted, we are more than glad to live vicariously through others ventures to Europe for cycling - any other massive climbs planned? - the Oakville jersey looks good on you!
cheers and safe riding! :)

Hi Rob - I did the Mont Ventoux climb yesterday and here's the proof attached- it was a 23 km climb to 1910m in the middle of a 107km ride. Perhaps you would like to send this to the group and ask if anyone else has done it this year - we could compare notes.

Congrats David. I bet it was a tough climb. We should compare notes. I will be there on July 25th doing the climb (from Bedoin) and watching the Tour De France crawl up as well.
I am praying for nice cool canadian air that day ;-)
Cheers,
/David
