An experience you may find of interest or may shock you...
Last night I went out training and ended up getting a flat just 8 km from
home on Walkers line, just north of No. 2 sideroad. A group of 3 cyclists I
had passed stopped to make sure all was well, and I said, "thanks, I have a
spare". Turns out the spare had a leak too and I was now stuck. I had my
race wheels on and wasn't about to ride a flat on them, nor did I wish to
ruin my shoes walking home. A call to my loving wife promised a ride within
the 1/2 hour.
For the next 40 minutes I sat at the side of the road, with my wheel off. I
was passed by 7 more cyclists. Only 1 of them asked if I needed assistance!!
Only 1 of 7!
Surprisingly I had 2 cars pull up and ask if I needed help or a ride (which
was very nice). To those other 6 cyclists -
Well, as most experienced cyclists know, there's "Bike Karma"....
