Pedaling Pilgrims presentation

This past summer while the rest of us were whiling away those endless rainy days
at the cottage, Greg and Anneli Andre-Barrett were tackling an 800 kilometer
1000 year old pilgrimage called the Camino Santiago, the road of St. James. They
biked across northern Spain encountering scenic vistas and many fascinating
fellow pilgrims and local characters along the way. In between hair-raising
episodes (Anneli robbed at 3am and then at 3pm tackling her very first mountain
biking on rocky and hilly trails and then on the roads going 50 kilometers an
hour, braking!), and the earthly indulgences, (the wine, the cafes,) they also
experienced moments of profound spiritual insight. And they want to share it all
with you at Grace Lutheran Church. The cost is free, but a free will offering
will be accepted for the Pave the Way Campaign (parking lot). Come out to hear a
story that you will not soon forget. Oh yeah, they got to Santiago in time to
join Spain’s King and Queen for the first jubilee of
the 21st Century where they were honoured among the other Canadian pilgrims.
Bring your friends and come out to Grace Lutheran Church on Sunday November 28th
at 7pm to see the photo presentation and hear the rest of the story.

To wet your appetite the above is an excellent web site of Cycling - Day to day
account with maps and photos of 2000 mile cycling trip from Roscoff (north
France on Channel coast) to Santiago de Compostela. For the Spanish section just
read the Spain Biarritz (we started in Pamplona) to Santiago stage diaries. The
diary has great photos. Clicking on the underlined words displays more photos.
Bottom of page is the link to the next stage. On the left hand menu there is a
separate Photo group as well.
