Hello everyone:
I trust everyone is looking forward to some more warmer weather. This
winter has been unbearable for many and with the taste of spring just
around the corner many of you are looking forward to getting out on
your bikes.
Our coverage with the Ontario Cycling Association depends on everyone
who participates in OCC events to be covered through the OCA 3rd
party liability coverage. People may participate in OCC events for a
maximum of 3 times as a guest - after which they will need to join
the club (this includes: Road Training Rides, Recreational Rides,
Time Trials, etc.) We will be enforcing this rule even more strictly
this year as our coverage depends on it.
Recently, you received your 2003 membership renewal. For those of you
who have sent it in, thank you. For those of you who have not, I
would ask that you take a moment to fill it out and mail it in to the
address indicated.
Not only will your membership entitle you to take part in OCC events,
but it will also keep you informed. As stated on the letter attached,
the OCC will no longer be sending out newsletters. Instead, we will
be keeping you "in the loop" via targeted e-mails pertaining to your
particular interest level (i.e., MTB, road, Recreation, etc.).
Memberships are from January 1st to December 31st - but we always
allow for a grace period in the new year as we have done in years
past. Those who have not joined by March 31st will be dropped from
the Oakville Cycling Club roster and all communications (including e-
mails). If you cannot join by this date, but intend to rejoin, please
send me an e-mail at : joemarangi@... or call me at 905-339-0630
to make special arrangements.
Looking forward to a great 2003
Joe Marangi
