As you know racing and time trials are important activities in our club.  In the past Doug Taylor has done a great job as Racing Chair in organizing time trials and racing event, however this year he is not available to take a leadership role.  Therefore we are looking for a member to step forward to coordinate the program.

 

What’s involved?

This year we expect to hold two time trials and one race monthly.  The time trials will take place on a Wednesday night and a Saturday morning.  The monthly race will take place on a Saturday morning. The coordinator does not necessarily have a direct role in the events as long as sufficient volunteers for the event have been recruited.  That way if you want to participate in the events, you can  

The Race chair:

• develops the schedule for the events
• ensures there are sufficient volunteers for each event
• records the results and forwards them to be posted on the web site

 

Both Doug Taylor and Mark Stuart will be able to assist as their schedules permit, so you will by means have to do all the work yourself.

 

This is an opportunity to help the club grow and improve its racing program, while learning how to organize and lead racing events.  I have attached a copy of our Racing Rules and Timing Guidelines to give you more detailed information about what’s involved.
