Message from the President – Tibor Schimek

Dear cycling enthusiasts. 

Thank you for your interest in our cycling club.  We are into the first month of this year's season, and from the activities over the past few months, I see we are off to a great start.  We have new riders showing up at our Walker's Line starting point, as well as at the Neyagawa location, and the comments we are getting are that we are very friendly and attentive.

We encourage you to spread the word, and have your friends and family members give us a try over the next few weeks.  We also need your completed memberships with payment, so that you can start participating in our racing and riding series, and so that we can get you covered with the Ontario Cycling Association.  These can be mailed in or brought to the regularly scheduled rides, races or time trials.  I hope to see you on your bike real soon; the weather is certainly heating up.

 

Mountain Biking

We are still looking for a new MTB Chair.  Any member who mountain bikes and is interested in chairing this activity is welcome to submit their name for consideration.  This section of our activities is a vibrant part of our club's offerings, and we need someone to be the key contact.

 

Road & Touring Rides – Daryl LeBlanc

And we are off! The road and touring rides started last weekend. This year we will have two types of rides: Road Rides at a brisk pace and Touring Rides at an easy pace, so there is something for everyone. Click here to check the schedules on our web site.

 

Remember, on Sunday, April 15 is our annual Exit to Eden ride. We start at 9.00 am from Tim Horton’s on Walkers Line.  Refreshments will be provided at Eden Mills. This ride is open to Easy Pace riders as well. We have planned a 60 km version that will start at the same time and place as the longer ride.

 

Racing – Terry Rooney

Urgent!

There is an error on our race schedule for time trials; when I added the races for this year I copied over the dates from last year and forgot to change them. So, it looks as thought Time Trials have been switched to Tuesday nights; THEY HAVE NOT. Wednesday continues to be our Time Trial night; a revised schedule is shown below and is posted on the website.

 

We already have some riders entering for the first member’s race and for the first elite race. Let me know in advance if you intend to race on April 22nd at Zimmerman.

Don’t forget to send in your completed membership form. The cost of membership is small while the benefits are great. So get your forms here and mail them in as soon as possible.
