Jay Payton hit 2 homers yesterday in that bandbox in San Francisco. Jay
now has 24 homers, 77 rbi, and a batting average of .313.
But not to worry, Mets fans. That rookie phenom Jeff Duncan was 1 for 1
yesterday, lifting his batting average to .196, and his rbi to 7, and
his runs scored to 13, in only 112 official at-bats. This comes to about
28 rbi in a full season of 450 official at-bats, and his runs to about
52.
By comparison, Bernie WIlliams is hitting .271, with 10 homers, 51 rbi,
and 62 runs scored.
