As far as I know, there are 2 stores in NYC that you can find decent skates in:
Paragon on 19th street and Broadway and Blades-Board and Skate. The BB&S has 3
locations: 659 Broadway(beetween Bleeker & 3rd), Manhattan mall @ 901 6th ave &
33 str., and 156 West 72nd street(between Broadway and Columbus).
Just please keep in mind that BB&S store has lost most of the inventory in the
wearhouse fire a few months ago and also it is "off sesaon" period, so nither
store is placing any orders on skating equipment or gears.
Your best shot might be(if you are comfortable with a particular manufacturer
and type of boot/frame) to order on-line and then custom mold in the store...but
this is just a suggestion.
