-- HOTEL:
The time period to reserve fantastically low GROUP RATE DISCOUNTS
HAVE EXPIRED for rooms at the Skyline Hotel. Skaters have booked all
rooms we obtained at the discount rate. Demand was so high that the
Skyline provided us extra discounted rooms that are also gone. There
are still rooms available at their normal rate. See website
http://www.empireskate.org/bigappleroll/.
PEOPLE ARE STILL LOOKING: We actually heard from quite a few people
who are still looking for rooms. So if you want to share your room or
are looking, let us know and email post to your local or regional
skating elists. Maybe someone has had to change plans and is willing
to transfer her/his group rate room to you. Also, you can use some of
the online hotel/accommodation websites for deals on rooms nearby.
There are some sites with links to NYC hotels/accommodations at our
website, on the "NYC Info" pages. The Skyline Hotel, event central is
located in "Midtown" West, Manhattan, so you may want to look for
something convenient.

-- RAFFLE: We will be holding raffles to help meet the costs of the
Big Apple Roll 2007. Please support the event by buying raffle
tickets at registration and during the weekend. You can win skates,
skate bags, skate trip, equipment, tee shirts, and money!

-- BRING WATER, SNACKS, MONEY, OTHER THINGS! There will be no water
truck following us this year so you will need to be sure to start
skates with your own water or drink. There will be water stops on all
skates where you can replenish by buying water or drinks, and/or
getting water at drinking fountains. We will have Cliff Bars for free
distribution at registration, but you may want to bring other snacks
on skates to share with that "cutie", and to keep hunger at bay!
Money will be helpful for buying water, snacks, food, raffle tickets,
subways, buses, and/or cabs if you feel the need or desire. One of
the advantages of skating in NYC is the easy access to public
transportation. You can always hop on a subway, bus or hail a cab to
meet us at the final destination. For ideas on what else to bring for
this weekend skate surf to our FAQ's webpage at
http://www.empireskate.org/bigappleroll/,
"<http://www.empireskate.org/bigappleroll/./checklist.htm>Skating
Trip Check List"!

-- BIKERS ARE WELCOMED: They must keep in mind that skaters kick-out.
Therefore, bikers must give skaters adequate space at all times by
riding in the back, front or side of the skaters.
