Skaters,
For those of you trapped in the city or Long Island for the weekend, let's
skate! If you would prefer to bike it, then join us on your bike.
Here's the deal...
This is an ADVANCED LEVEL skate. We will be skating on streets and there will
be cars on the road. You MUST be able to keep up. We will make every effort
to keep you in the skate, however, we can not wait for one skater.
We meet at the Massapequa Train station, north parking lot, at 11:15 AM. That
means taking the LIRR from Penn Station at 10:04 AM. Skate around Massapeuqa,
Seaford, Wantagh, and Massapequa Park. We will eventually skate down the Cedar
Creek Park path to the beach. Spend a few hours at the beach (there will be an
air show at the beach), then skate back to Jack's house for a barbeque. Lots
of burgers (yes, veggie burgers too!), suasages, hot dogs, salad, drinks, etc.Â
A good time will be had by all.
If you can not do the skate, then you can come over for the barbeque at 5:30
PM. Even if you do not know me, you are invited to show up at the barbeque.Â
If you are driving to the skate, here are the directions... Take the Southern
State Pkwy. to exit 30, Broadway. Trun RIGHT at the light for Broadway.Â
Drive about 2 1/2 miles down. Just before the train tressel, pull in to the
train parking lot.
If you are driving to the barbeque at Jack's house, here are the directions...
Take the Southern State Parkway to exit 29 (Route 107). Turn right at the
light (Route 107, Hicksville Road) toward Massapequa. Continue down Route 107
past Sunrise Highway. Turn RIGHT on Maple Street (about 9 blocks past Sunrise
Highway). My address is 1 Maple Street. It is the last house on the right,
and it is on the corner of Maple Street and Seaford Avenue.
If you have any questions, you can call me on my cell phone at (516) 220-7787.
Let's hope we have GREAT Weatehr this weekend. I look forward to seeing you
all on the skate this Saturday morning.
Jack
