Hey Guys the 3rd Annual Grape Eskate is on for this Sunday, September 25,
2005.
Come join me on a relaxing skate through some of the up and coming wineries
on Long Island. We will be doing some wine tasting, enjoying live music,
sunshine. It will be approximately 14 miles in 6 hours. There is no hills,
just beautiful scenery and vineyards. Bikers are welcome. There will be a SAG
vehicle to hold wine/bags. Drivers please park at the Mattituck train station
and take the train to Greenport. We will be skating from Greenport to
Mattituck.
For those who would like to come out a day earlier, I will have a skate
planned to Orient Point and back (18 miles). Train schedule is the same for
both
Sat. and Sunday. Please contact me on cell 631-523-1364 or email

By Train
Take the 9:14AM Train from Penn Station (Madison Square Garden) to the
Greenport Station. Transfer at Ronkonkoma. Arrive in Greenport at 12:03 PM
Return:
6:09 PM train at Mattituck. Arrive Penn Station at 8:37 PM.
Ticket: $14.50 offpeak one way.
By Car:
Long Island Expressway to the end (exit 73). Exit will merge into route 58.
Take 58 East through the traffic circle. Route 58 will become Route 25.
Take route 25 to Love Lane to the Mattituck train station.
Meet at 11:30 AM. Train will arrive at 11:40 AM. We will be skating from
Greenport to Mattituck.
If you arrive late, continue on route 25 for approximately 14 miles to
Greenport. Follow the signs to the Shelter Island Ferry. Train station is
next
to the ferry.
