UPA Level 1 Coaching Clinic in NYC! Planning Ahead   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #770 of 858 |
NYC Ultimate Community,

My name is Zach Pickens and I'm acting as a Local Coordinator for the
UPA's upcoming Youth Ultimate Level 1 coaching clinic in New York
City. I'm hoping to get some feedback and a show of interest on
hosting this clinic in NYC. The Level I Coaching Certification
focuses on the basics of Ultimate Coaching and is ideal for anybody
interested in or already coaching Ultimate at any level. For more
info, check out the UPA's description here:
http://upa.org/coaches/coaching

As planning begins, I need a lot of help from players in the
community. I have some locations, dates, and times in mind, but want
to make this clinic as accommodating as possible in such a large city.
I hope you all can give me feedback on potential sites for a
mid-Winter clinic. We are generally looking to hold the clinic on a
Saturday or Sunday between January and March. It will be a one day, 8
hour clinic, using both a classroom setting and a field setting.

What I would love to hear from all of you is:

1. Interest! If you're interested in attending the coaching clinic,
please email me with your name and contact information.
2. Feedback on dates. Do you play on a club team that will be out of
town at tournaments any particular weekend? Do you personally have
any major scheduling conflicts? We haven't set a date yet, so any and
all scheduling feedback is welcome.
3. Ideal field space/ clinic location ideas. Right now, I'm looking
at a school in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, which is close to the 4 train,
has plenty of field space, parking space, and classroom space. But is
that too far for some? Can anyone recommend a great location elsewhere?

Again, any and all feedback is welcome and encouraged. Please respond
if you're interested!

Thanks,
Zach Pickens
