Hey All,

I wanted to give you a heads up that John Kim and I are organizing a
Spring League for Ultimate which will start the first weekend of
April, playing Wednesdays and Sundays. We're still working on
putting together a registration site, but will send a post around as
soon as we have it running. Here are the general details:

League: Spring Manhattan Ultimate Disc (MUD) League (don't worry
fields are grass and turf!)
Dates: April 5 to June 1 or 7th
# of Teams: 6
Format: 5M/2W (4/3 whenever possible)
Game Times and Locations:
1) Wednesday from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at East River Soccer Field at E.
6th St and FDR (you will play 4-5 Wed. out of 8 weeks)
2) Sunday afternoons at Inwood Hill Park near W. 215 and Broadway.
(you will play every Sunday except Memorial Day).
Cost: approx $40-50 (will include t-shirt and disc (possibly
jerseys)).

We will be using a self-ranking system and allocating players to
teams in a semi-random format (no draft and no cores). We would like
this to be a true co-ed league so please spread the word to players
not on this site so that we get sufficient numbers. For those of you
playing with club teams, there are plenty of games even if you have a
full spring tourney schedule, so feel free to sign up.

We are also looking for 5-6 volunteers to act as captains. This
really only involves sending out schedule reminders and handling on-
field disputes and the occasional rules question. It's really easy
and helps the league run smoothly. If your interested in being a

Emphasis will be on Spirit of the Game, but with competetive play and
balanced teams.
