From the Tourney Director:
Gobble...Gobble!

It is with great enthusiasm and commitment to tradition that we announce:
The 25th Edition: Ultimate Frisbee Turkey Bowl Tournament!  (Ranked #24 in Longest Running UPA Tournaments!  (Source: Ultimate the First Four Decades 1st Edition, and YES, we said “FRISBEE” - Bridgeport is the historic home of Frisbie Pies, and you know the rest of the story!)

BREAKING NEWS  - This year we are going 4m/3w, AND expanding to 16 teams!***

We look forward to offering all of the amenities that have been part of this annual pilgrimage so that you can play hard, eat, drink and be merry.  (And feel good because this is also a fund raising tournament for local organizations.)

Plan on having a rocking good time at Turkey Bowl 2007!  We look forward to seeing you all again soon!     DanO

----------

3 Games guaranteed – either single elimination format or 2 pools (Vultures / Turkeys)
Location:  Seaside Park, Bridgeport, CT (Same beautiful park as last year)
Time:   Captains Meeting: 9:00 a.m.  (note the earlier time)
Games start at 9:30  (note the earlier time)

FOOD:  Delicious traditional Thanksgiving Day Feast served after round 3
Trophies:  1rst and 2nd place trophies, as well as a Team Spirit Award.  SPIRIT COUNTS !
Advice on Keeping Warm:  It's in November !  Bring wind ad rain gear, including extra layers, socks, boots, etc. in order to keep warm during the day, and stick around and heckle during finals.  No wimps!  No Whiners!

Tournament Organizers:
- Tourney Director:  Dan O
- Director(s) of Competition: John Garb and Julie Sussman (coordinating team bids, pools and seeding, etc.)
- Tournament Day Coordinator:  "Mayor" Sonny "Sundog" Mehta
- Local Ultimate Community (Team FairField and others) - pitching in as always to help out!

Bid Request Info:
The Tournament is limited to first 16 teams to request a bid.  To request your team bid:
- E-mail John @ Garboj@...
- Put “TurkeyBowl Bid Request” in the subject line
- If your bid is accepted, you must immediately secure your team’s spot with a non-refundable $100.00 deposit.  The balance of the tourney fee ($165) will be due no later than 2 weeks before the day of the tourney.
- When requesting a bid, you MUST include the following info:
Complete Team info, including:
a) Team Name
b) Contact Name
c) Address
d) Phone Number where you can be easily reached
e) Email address
f) Anticipated strength of your team for seeding purposes, including recent relevant tourney experience and your preferred level of competition in case we divide the pools (hardcore: "vultures", friendlier: "Turkeys")
g) If you are a returning team, you must provide the relevant details and meet all bid requirements including deadlines in order to be given priority, or the next interested team on the list will be offered the spot.
h) The following phrase must be included in your bid:  “I understand that this is a coed tournament, and understand the roster implications to field a team of 4men / 3women throughout the day.”

***offense does NOT dictate, but captains are free to agree to other scenarios, with the understanding that 4m/3w is the default, and you can be forced to play a person down, or to forfeit a win if you cannot field 4m/3w on any given point during a game.

Incomplete bid requests risk being moved to the bottom of the list.

Following acceptance of your bid, bid deposits should be sent by Paypal to garboj@..., or by check and snail mail to:
Mr. John Garb
49 Dandy Drive,
Cos Cob, CT  06807

To Individuals looking for a team:
As in past years, we will try to assist individuals without teams to find a team to play with, or make up a team of spill-over players.  (You will be charged a per player fee of $20.00)  If you are looking for a team, send an email to Julie @ jsussman@..., with the subject line:  “Solo Player looking for TurkeyBOWL team”.  Your message must provide BRIEF basic info, including specifically:

- any other critical info.

Have a question?? Please read this email again, and then if you really need more info, contact John @ garboj@... with any questions.
