Friends:
Please join me on Saturday, September 29th @ 7:30PM, for what promises
to be a wonderful evening of music at St. Peter's Church, located at
the CITICORP Building on East 54th Street. Furthermore, you're
heartily encouraged to check out the concerts before hand that also
make up this festival of two of the great powerhouses of the German
Baroque, Johann Sebastian Bach & Dietrich Buxtehude, played by two of
the finest concert organists I know. A good friend of mine described
his Bach experience at last year's festival as akin to listening to
"...a two hour prayer...," and the St. Matthew, with its double
orchestra, 50 voice choir, and soloists, is truly one of JSB's
masterworks.
Please see the information below for details (if you are one of the
economically challenged, let me know and I'll do everything I can to
arrange tickets for you.). All the best, and I look forward to seeing
you on the 29th...JAK
