Tournament
Saturday and Sunday, May 19th and 20th, 2007
East Hampton, NY

If you a 40 year old male, or 30 year old female (or will be this
year) you are invited to play, whether you have a team or not. Just
show up by 10am on Saturday morning and we'll add you to a team.
Teams from Boston, Montreal, New York City, Pelham, NY, Connecticut
and Easthampton are confirmed. Maryland and Toronto are considering
attending.
With many individual players coming to pickup with teams.
INDIVIDUAL COSTS:
NO ENTRY FEE. Cost is $10 for the weekend for non-UPA members so that
you may be covered by insurance or you can join the UPA instead
(more costly). For UPA members there is no entry fee, as insurance
is a perk of membership.
The other cost for this tournament will be for your locally caught
and cooked lobster dinner to be enjoyed in front of the bonfire,
which will be around US$25 per person if desired.
The pancake breakfast is $5 per person and will be served to campers
and those who show up at the Peters home by 9 am. All other costs
for this tournament will be born by the organizers.
Water, ice and bananas will be provided at fields. A keg will be
available at the beach. Great fields smack in the beautiful village
of East Hampton,continually acclaimed as America's most beautiful
main street, will be the site of this tournament.

ACCOMODATIONS:
Free camping, with outdoor shower and swimming pool will be
available, situated on 20+ acres of land outside of Amagansett five
minutes from the fields, and minutes from great ocean and bay
beaches. Anybody needing camping gear we will try to help out.
Teams are welcome to arrive either Friday evening or Saturday
morning. For those interested in fancier accommodations please call
Alexander "Sas" Peters at 631-267-8200 in Amagansett, or on his cell
917-992-4730 before Friday, and he will direct you to numerous
hotels or condo rentals. Matty Jefferson can also be reached at 203-
209-7365 for directions and hotel info.

TOURNEY SCHEDULE:
The Captain's meeting will start at 10:30am Saturday with three
rounds of play scheduled to start at 11am. Please be ready to fill a
roster captains if you havent already. Games to 40 depending on how
many we play. Sunday games will also start at 11am.

WHAT TO BRING:
Please bring the obvious: cash, dark shirts (black or dark blue),
light shirts (white), water, food for the day, sunscreen, beer, more
beer, musical instruments if you play, and your great wisdom and
spirit.

SATURDAY NIGHT BEACH PARTY:
Saturday night at 7pm, after competition, there will be a beach party
complete with dinner, bonfire, story telling and a walking stick
burning ceremony. Bring your own discs, chairs, blankets,
flashlights or lanterns, kids, music and dogs to the beach.
Musicians bring your guitars and other instruments if you want. Any

DIRECTIONS TO TOURNAMENT FIELDS (Herrick Park East Hampton):
>From the North (Boston):
Take I-95 South to New London, CT. Follow the signs to the ferry
terminal. Take the Cross Sound Ferry (reservations mandatory) to
Orient Point. Follow Rte 25 to signs to Shelter Island Ferry at
Greenport. Once off the ferry, follow Rt. 114 to the other side of
Shelter Island. Take the ferry to Sag Harbor. Follow Rt. 114 to Rt.
27 East. You must make reservations for the Cross Sound Ferry, but
it is totally worth it.

>From West (New York city):
Long Island Expressway (LIE) East to exit 70. Take a right onto
Manorville Rd. and go to the end. Follow the road onto Rte 27 East,
aka: Sunrise Highway, which is 4 Lanes. It will turn into the
Montauk Highway, which is 2 lanes. Do not speed on Rte 27 East. Take
Rte 27 East all the way to East Hampton Village. Take a left onto
Newtown Lane at the main stoplight in town. (As you pass Waldbaums
on your left you may want to stop and pick up WATER, Bagels,
Gatorade and Bananas.) Take a Left onto Railroad Ave before the
tracks. Take a Left into the long-term parking area. Fields are in
front of you.

>From Westchester and Western Connecticut:
Take the Merritt Parkway South to the Hutchinson Parkway South.
Take the Throgs Neck Bridge to the Cross Island Parkway. Take the
Long Island Expressway (LIE) East to Exit 70. Follow directions from
LIE exit 70 above.

>From the South (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington DC):
Take I-95 North to I-278 over the Goethals Bridge and The Verrazano
Narrows Bridge. Then take either I-278 (which is first the Gowanus
and then the Brooklyn Queens Expresssway (BQE) to the LIE East OR
(for the more scenic and pleasant route) take the Belt Parkway East
to the Van Wyck North to the LIE East. Follow directions from LIE
exit 70 above.

Directions to the Indian Wells Beach in Amagansett (party site):
Take a right at Mobil Station on Rte 27 in Amagansett onto Indian
Wells Highway to the beach at the end of the road. Park and walk
down the beach to the right. We will be a few hundred yards down the
beach. Dogs are welcome on the beach after 6pm.

Directions to Camping at Sas's Place (86 Stony Hill Road):
(Please AVOID rush hour; 3:30-7pm on Friday night)
Take Rte 27 East to Amagansett. Just before the Mobil Station make a
left onto Windmill Lane. Go to the end. Make a right onto Town Lane.
Make a left onto Stony Hill Road and go to the 7th driveway on the
right, look for the signs that say Red Fox Run when you pull in.
Drive slowly ahead and come all the way back (1/2 mile) staying left.

Come one come all, bring family and friends. Sideline babysiiting
will be aplenty.
