AJ Kitt Calls on The Industry to Save TV Ski Coverage
A few months ago I passed along a disturbing message I received from the
grapevine about how Outdoor Life Network thinks that people are not
interested in watching ski racing on TV, and that they are considering
canceling coverage. They've come to this conclusion based only on the
feedback they receive through their web site, or in our case, what they are
not receiving.
Outdoor Life Network is the only TV network carrying skiing coverage on any kind of regular basis, may cancel that coverage. "They've come to the conclusion based only on the feedback they receive through their web site, or in our case, what they are not receiving," Kitt writes. "Skiing is getting killed by cycling (45%) and sailing (33%). We are way down in the single digits."
A new show called Adventure Center, sort of a "sports center" of outdoor adventure sports, will be starting on. Kitt is calling on those in the industry to go to the OLN website www.olntv.com, on the lower right margin you can vote in a poll for what you'd most like to see on Adventure Center. After you vote you'll be shown the stats so far of the voting...
If you feel like helping, that would be great. We in the ski industry are already fighting a tough battle against poor snow conditions, and a slow economy. This is a way we can have a positive effect.
Thanks for your help.
Think Snow.
