2^nd Northwest Snowboard for Breast Cancer fundraiser to be held at Stevens Pass Resort on Saturday March 9^TH 2002.  The music line-up includes local Seattle bands, Vendetta Red, Stamad, Honey Tongue, 3 Deuces and Lesliwood . DJ’s include Ki, Smile and Space DJ.

Mamafest is a non-profit, northwest focused breast cancer awareness organization. Mamafest’s mission is to spread breast cancer awareness to youth, women and men of all ages to raise funds for breast cancer research and educational programs. Funds this year will be distributed to breast cancer programs at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. In addition a portion of funds will be distributed to the national Boarding for Breast Cancer Foundation.

Northwest Board Sports is sponsoring the pledge drive. Individuals may collect pledges from family, co-workers and friends to raise funds. Top two fundraisers will win a free snowboard donated by Northwest Board Sports. Merchandise has also been donated by NWBS for raffle prizes.

Raffle’s will be held all day long with prizes generously donated by Zumiez, Experience Music Project, K2, Solomon, Shiseido, Merril, Burly Girls, The Sports Rack, Western Washington Beverage and many others to still be announced. Raffle tickets cost $5.00 per ticket and all donations are tax deductible.

Vendor booths located on-site during the event are Salomon, K2, Option, GNU, Lib Tech, Nitro, Burton, Santa Cruz and Chorus. Participants will have access to demo the years hottest snowboard gear! A breast cancer educational display booth will also be present with informational materials provided by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

The 1^st Mamafest event held in 2000 raised over $3,000 for The Boarding for Breast Cancer Foundation simply on individual donations and raffle ticket sales . With the addition of a pledge drive in 2002 and sponsorships, Mamafest hopes to raise over $10,000+ for the fight against breast cancer.
