A New Home for a Cultural Center and Museum? (taken from article
written by V. Kohler, The Oregonian)
The Government Camp Historical Society has identified the Mt. Hood
Manor in Government Camp, Mt. Hood, OR is a possible location for a
cultural center and museum. For the past few months, the Society has
been working with Clackamas County Commissioners in determining the
financing of such the project. Mary Swanson Duncan, owner of the
Mt. Hood Manor is retiring and selling the 9,800 sq. ft. two story
building. The Cultural Center and Museum will have class rooms,
multi-purpose rooms, as well as displays about the history and
development of Mt. Hood.
2002 FWSA Convention To Be Hosted by NWSCC
The NWSCC Board is busy planning the FWSA 2002 Convention, scheduled
to be held June 6 - 9, 2002. The Marriott Hotel on Front Street,
Portland, OR will be the site.
Now is a great opportunity for NWSCC member clubs and club members to
become involved in a larger event. Clubs can make the upcoming
months of planning and the convention itself a club activity.
Volunteers will be needed to help with registration, decorations,
fliers, the tournaments, gifts, and much more. Please contact Sheri
Parshall at cougskier@..., or (503) 245-3782 for more
information, sign-up as a volunteer, or come to the next planning
meeting and become involved.

FWRA Racing Championships, April 5 & 6, 2003, Mt. Bachelor, OR This
will be the first time that this event will be held in Oregon, and
Mt. Bachelor and NWSCC are very excited! NWSCC is hoping to have
over 100 racers participate on behalf of NWSCC. Historically,
NWSCC's has had anywhere from four (4) to thirty (30) racers
compete. They have almost always either won or placed in their
event - and now NWSCC has the opportunity to dominate these
Championships. A trip package will be organized and offered to club
members wanting to go. This event is not limited to racers - club
members are encouraged to come and watch these exciting races, or
enjoy Spring skiing/boarding, and many other activities. If you
