The Golden Rose Ski Classic

June 4th, 2005 at Timberline

Mt. Hood Ski Education Foundation and Northwest Ski Club Council jointly
sponsor this race. The format has changed so please read the information
carefully. All registration information and updates are posted on the
MHSEF website at www.mthoodacademy.com.

Your help is very much appreciated. We are very fortunate to keep this race
going.

Event: Head-to-head team racing on Timberline's Palmer Snowfield,
Saturday, June 4th, 2005. Teams of six compete in three runs of dual GS,
counting each racer's best two runs to calculate team's total points.
Points are based on a handicap system considering both age and gender. The
fastest time does not always earn the most points!

Format: During the first two runs teams will race head-to-head against
other teams. Each team will compete once on the Blue course and once on the
Red course. The third run is a "shoot-out", where the fastest scratch times
of the day are paired for final competition, regardless of team. A coin
toss at the start will determine who gets which course.

Scoring: Racers must complete two of the three runs in order to be
included in the scoring. The combined time of a racer's best two runs will
be converted to Golden Rose Race Points, based on total time, age and
gender. The best (lowest) four points from each team will be used to
calculate the total team points. At least one female racer's points must be
used in the team points. (The NEW Golden Rose Race Points will spread out
team scores.)

Team Entry Fee: The entry fee is $330.00 per team. Teams consist of six
racers and must include at least one female. Entry fees must be submitted
as a single check made out to MHSEF along with the team entry form and the
Timberline event release. Mail completed entry form, entry fee and releases
to: MHSEF, Golden Rose Ski Classic, P.O. Box 189, Government Camp, OR
97028

Entry Deadline & Cancellation: Complete entries must be received by Friday,
May 27th. If the weather forecast looks bad, or not enough teams have
registered, a decision will be made on Wednesday, June 1st to cancel the
event. At that time entry fees will be refunded. If weather causes
cancellation on the day of the event, entry fees will not be refunded.

Lift Tickets: Lift tickets are not included with the team entry. Racers
needing lift tickets may purchase a $31.00 racer ticket at registration on
race day. Teams may pre-purchase tickets by submitting a separate check
made out to Timberline along with the team entry. Pre-purchased lift
tickets will be included in the team packet at registration. If the event
is cancelled prior to registration ticket money will be refunded.

Registration: Event registration will be from 7:30am to 8:00am in
Timberline's WyEast Day Lodge. Team captains should pick up the race
packet, which will include racer bibs, pre-purchased lift tickets, event
t-shirts, start orders, etc. Any significant changes to the program will be
announced at registration.

Awards Presentation: Following the "shoot-out" race run there will be a
reception in the Wy'East Day Lodge. Food will be provided and an event
video will be shown. Awards will be presented to the top three teams as
well as the fastest male and female competitors. Several other award
categories will also be presented.
