Diesel? Dang, I thought he was asking about a gas engine.

I assume you are talking about the diesel in the picture. It is
overfueled the same as the big tractors and it is unburned fuel and
soot.

Engine is getting too much gas. Air filter is dirty, carburetor is set too
rich, needle & seat (float valve) in carburetor is defective or fuel pump
pressure set too high.

They are plentiful in Australia and Europe but hard to find here. It
depends how much fuel you are going to try and get in it or what your
clubs rules are but if you can find one off a VW TDI engine that is
removable from the exhaust manifold that is a good place to start.
We have a good pile of small turbos here we got off ebay and junkyards
to learn with and have built a hybrid but it is hard to find used parts
with a small enough A/R on the turbine side and a good compressor match
(for big boost)for a D1105. Good luck, we are currently at the SEMA
show in Las Vegas and have investigated everything new available and
cheap isn't part of it and as I said used (that will spin hard enough
and not choke)is hard to find in the USA.

Depends if Kubota offered a turbo engine in your series, look on the
Kubota engines website to see. For instance a D1105T manifold fits the
motors in that series. If they do you can buy one resonable at Capital
Engine Co at 740-964-0089

Have got turbo ready to mount on kubota engine, however ran into problem
mounting to original (non-turbo) manifold wandering if anyone knows if
there is a manifold made for the small kubotas that will mount a turbo.
Columbus Diesel Supply can do your fuel system and turbo if you want. I
don't know what turbo you're using but I found a guy that builds a lot
of small hybrids if you don't want to do your own. You can get your
rods heat treated if you don't want to make new ones.

Basically more fuel and more boost, timing, porting, etc. Same thing
they do to the big pulling tractors you need to do to the small ones.
Then comes the rods, valves and springs, roller rockers, pistons etc to
make it live.

New to your group, been pulling for several years in south Ga. I just
recently powered a cub with D720 kubota engine. Would like to get more
power would anyone have suggestion. Thanks
I was told that the pins on a three pin clutch driver were designed
to
break, which they do. My question is, if 6 and 9 pin drivers seem to
be the popular setup and recommended, is the previous statement true,
or might the clutch be undersized for the modified class flat head
that pulls like a dozer when its right. Opinions are important here as
my pulling partner and I had a serious difference of opinion on this.
My bullheaded, hair trigger attitude, towards multiple, repeat repairs
had nothing to do with the situation(BG)

>Hello Evan. Very nice tractor. I have one question, are you running
stock pistons? If so what kind of boost levels are you running. I
have a friend running a z600b kubota twin and is haveing piston
failures at the ring lands. He is cutting the piston dome to lower
the compresion but the cylinder pressure is still to much for the
cast piston.

I commend you for your craftsmanship and patients! I have a very limited budger
(about 1500 a year MAX) and very few tools so I just do what I can and in time
it will be a contender.
Once again Great tractor!!!

More time than money, two years worth, my son and I have a machine
shop, most everything nmade and fabricated right here, not from some
catalog. We did the paint also.

cool..Everyone of my fellow pullers should give this man a pat on the

Can anyone tell me the shortest steering column that cub made?
I would like to shorten mine on a Model 70 while I have it down for
mods, and does anyone have such a critter (if it exists) they would
part with.
Thanks
