They are plentiful in Australia and Europe but hard to find here. It
depends how much fuel you are going to try and get in it or what your
clubs rules are but if you can find one off a VW TDI engine that is
removable from the exhaust manifold that is a good place to start.

We have a good pile of small turbos here we got off ebay and junkyards
to learn with and have built a hybrid but it is hard to find used parts
with a small enough A/R on the turbine side and a good compressor match
(for big boost)for a D1105. Good luck, we are currently at the SEMA
show in Las Vegas and have investigated everything new available and
cheap isn't part of it and as I said used (that will spin hard enough
and not choke)is hard to find in the USA.
