Nittany Wrestling Federation presents...
"PENN STATE: STATE PENN"
8:30 PM - Saturday, November 18, 2000
White Building, Penn State Campus
FREE ADMISSION

This is the final time you will be able to see the superstars of the NWF in action in the year 2000, and the NWF is expecting record crowds to attend this Saturday's latest free-per-view exrravaganza, "State Penn." "State Penn" has traditionally been the biggest night of the year for the NWF, as it all started two years ago with the epic no-holds-barred title match between then-champion "LiveWire" Dave Desire and "Too Phat" Yutzak Arafat. That match was a lumbjerack match with athletes from various Penn State sports acting as the lumberjacks! Last year, State Penn was witness to the "Ohio State" invasion as "Rapid Delivery" Rory Fox and Chip Fairway fought on the show.

With all of that history in mind, this year's "State Penn" is shaping up to be the biggest NWF show in history! Here are the confirmed matches as we know them right now:

1. EIGHT MAN SURVIVOR MATCH:
TEAM TOO PHAT vs. RISK MANAGEMENT (w/Million Dollar Wendal)

TEAM TOO PHAT: "Too Phat" Yutzak Arafat, Draven, Mad Dog, mystery man

RISK MANAGEMENT: Tommy Golden, "Simply Astonishing" Kevin KanEvil, Don Juan Desanto, Dr. Heresy

STIPULATIONS:
1. This will be an elimination-style tag match, and wrestlers can be eliminated by pinfall, submission, countout, or DQ. The team that can eliminate all four members of the opposing team will be declared the winners.
2. If Risk Management wins, then "Million Dollar" Wendal will become full owner of the NWF. If Team Too Phat wins, then Wendal will have to leave the NWF forever!

2. NWF HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP:
Tommy Golden (w/Million Dollar Wendal) vs. "Too Phat" Yutzak Arafat

STIPULATIONS:
1. There is an "unannounced" stipulation for this match! The stipulation will be revealed this week on NWF radio.

3. NWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
"Mind & Matter" (w/Million Dollar Wendal) vs. "The Damned"

4. UNIVERSITY PARK CHAMPIONSHIP:
Fumar vs. a mystery opponent

5. GRUDGE MATCH:
"Simply Astonishing" Kevin KanEvil (w/Million Dollar Wendal) vs. Shawn Storm

For more information, keep checking the NWF website!

"The Real Deal" (11/14/00)
by Ryan Allen

Hello to all of you NWF marks, and welcome to my party.  I'm not one for wasting time, so let me introduce myself.  My name is Ryan Allen.  I'm the Real Deal.  And this is how it is:

Let's start off with our own wonderful federation, and the best damn indy fed in the country, the NWF:

Coming up this Saturday, November 18th @ 8:30 pm - Live! from the White Building, will be without a doubt, the BIGGEST free-per-view extravaganza this campus has ever seen!  PENN STATE: STATE PENN!

State Penn is shaping up to be the greatest card the NWF has ever assembled, and promises to deliver some of the best wrestling action anywhere.  As always, admission to the show is absolutely free!  And everyone who comes to the show will have the opportunity to be entered into a raffle to win over $100 worth of free stuff!  After the football game on Saturday and before you're ready to hit the party scene, come check out our last show of 2000!  Here's how the card for State Penn is shaping up:

"Simply Astonishing" Kevin KanEvil w/ Million Dollar Wendall vs. Shawn Storm
As usual, Wendall will stack the deck in KanEvil's favor.  Remember also, after an impressive showing at Riot 2000 that saw Storm pull off the upset,  he was pummeled by KanEvil and the NWF champion, Tommy Golden, and saved from serious injury only thanks to former champion, Yutzak Arafat.  Even with all of the hatred Storm has for KanEvil and Risk Management, I think with Wendall there it's just a little to much.
My pick: Kevin KanEvil (w/ help from Mr. Wendall)

Fumar (champion) vs. a mystery opponent - for the University Park title
One thing is for sure, Fumar doesn't accept failure.  After "Rapid Fire" beat "California" Chris Christian (a supposed friend of Fumar's) at Riot 2000, Fumar beat both of the men senseless after the match and fired "California" Chris Christian.  Fumar doesn't f.... oops, we're not ECW yet so let me start that again... Fumar doesn't screw around.
My Pick: Fumar to retain his title

Mind and Matter w/ Million Dollar Wendall (champions) vs. The Damned - NWF Tag titles
Well, there is no love loss in this one.  Dr. Heresy and Don Juan DeSanto (M&M) have proven themselves again and again in the NWF.....as the most annoying (and "iffy") tag team (anyone notice those purple outfits?) ever to grace the NWF ring.  Unfortunately for these two though, their tag belts are going to be up for grabs, and Draven and Mad Dog (the Damned) have been chomping at the bit to get their hands on the champs and on the titles that they still believe are rightfully theirs.  The last match between these two teams was a street fight, and don't expect any less from this one.  Mind and Matter may have held their belts once against the Damned, but after being recognized as one of the hottest up-and-coming teams in the Indy wrestling world, the Damned are going to be a tall task for Mind and Matter to overcome, even with Wendall at ringside.
My Pick: the Damned to be crowned new tag team champions!

Tommy Golden (champion) vs. "Too Phat" Yutzak Arafat - NWF Heavyweight title
There is too much history between these two to even BEGIN to tell you about it all.  If you want to see it all, be sure to check out the NWF website at http://www.empusa.net/nwf/.  At Riot 2000 Mr. Wendall revealed that Tommy Golden was his hired gun to try and take out the then NWF champion Arafat.  After wreaking havok all night with his "Jackpot" finishing move (similar to a pedigree), and helping KavEvil nearly destroy Shawn Storm, Golden (with help from Wendall, and the special guest referee Fumar) managed to defeat Arafat, becoming the first ever 3-time NWF champion!  To top it off, this is going to be a stipulation match...will it be a ladder match?  (let's remember the classic from April '99 VIP - Arafat/Fumar)  Or will it be a no holds barred match? (we already got a taste of some steel chairs, metal sheets, and tables at the Riot 2000) Or will it be something new for the NWF?  The first ever Nittany Cage match?  A Tables and Ladders and Chairs match? Maybe we'll get our Bra and Panties match?.....on second thought, let's hope if we get that it's not for the NWF title....but hey, you never know.  All that you do know, is these two guys hate each other, but you gotta wonder if either of them will be in any shape for the main event - 8-man survivor match?  This one is like the election (thanks to the morons in Florida) - too close to call!

MAIN EVENT ~ 8-Man survivor match * Control of the NWF/ Mr. Wendall leaves town match:
Team Too Phat (Arafat, the Damned, & mystery man) vs. Risk Management (Golden, KanEvil & Mind and Matter)
This is the most important match in the HISTORY of the NWF.  On the line - the entire federation...that's right.  If the Risk Management team wins, Mr. Wendall gets total control of the NWF.  If team Too Phat wins though, Mr. Wendall will have to take his fat wallet (along with his fat mouth) out of the NWF for good.  Is it worth the Risk?  Well everyone, this one needs no hype.  You take 8 of the best wrestlers in the history of the NWF (including it's 2 most prominent champions in Arafat and Golden) and make it worth more than any other match any of these men have ever wrestled in, and you have what promises to be a fitting end to quite possibly, the best card the NWF has ever seen.  As for a prediction on this match,  I'd love to see Wendall gone, but let's face it...he's always got something up his sleeve.  All I can say is come check it out this Saturday!

Remember also to check out our shows, Monday from 5-6pm on Campus Channel 21 and Thursday from 6:30 - 7 on "The Lion" 90.7 fm, where the announcement of the stipulation for the Golden-Arafat title match will happen, and to hear other breaking news in the big 3 and the wrestling world in general!

Here's what I see in the big 3 - keep in mind that this is completely biased and based on my opinion, but it's right because I say it is:

ECW:
SCOTT HALL!  And you all thought he was passed out in a gutter somewhere!  Well I for one am a huge Scott Hall fan, and I'm glad to see him back and lookin great.  I wish him the best, and I hope he can keep focused because I think he's one of the best in the business on the mic, and he's got enough skill in the ring to really help ECW.  I think ECW is a good time-slot away from trampling over WCW in the ratings.  Week in and week out, ECW puts on a good show and with guys who pour their hearts and souls into wrestling.  Forget about the fact that half of the guys who are big timers in WWF and WCW came from ECW, they still have a number of guys in their own fed who are stars in their own right.  Namely, Justin Credible who is (next to HHH) maybe the best heel in the business, and Rob Van Dam, who may be the best anywhere in the ring and on the mic.  I think it's great to see them keep pushing some of the other guys too, including Jerry Lynn, and current champion Steve Corino.  With others also like Rhino and New Jack, and the lengths these guys go to for a pop out of the crowd, I give ECW all the credit in the world and I say keep up the good work.

WCW:
Well, to be fair to WCW, I'll list what they are doing well, and what makes me want to do anything OTHER than watch WCW:

GOOD:....atleast they don't do shows everyday?...actually, Scott Steiner, Buff Bagwell (my personal fav in WCW), Kevin Nash (hey I still find him amusing), Kidman (I bet he's kicking himself for not comin to the WWF though),Mike Awesome, Lance Storm, Jeff Jarret and Booker T- they have the talent....
BAD: EVERYTHING
Where to begin?  David Arquette was officially a WCW champion (isn't it bad enough that he's nailing Courtney Cox?); David Flair is ANYWHERE as a wrestler; after "stealing Mike Awesome from ECW, they put him into the tremendously intimidating role of "that 70s guy"...i know i'm scared....; I know people were sick of the "old blood" but do you have anyone who can give an interview?; it was nice of the Cat to give Bischoff's kid karate lessons, but he's about as interesting as belly-button lint and his dancing is even worse; the Cat is about as interesting as they get in WCW; names like General Rection; poor production, the camera shots make the wrestlers look even worse than they are; lazy matches and out-of shape wrestlers exchanging holds for 10 minutes until someone interferes with a chair; re-running old WWF gimmics and angles just isn't that interesting; I thought Russo would make it better...now I'm thinking again...oh yeah, and as much as anything else, wouldn't u think WCW could afford some decent announcers?

WWF:
Sagging ratings this...PTC that...the fact of the matter is, in the world of the Big 3 there are 2 boys and 1 man.  The WWF is still the big dog, and even though they are losing some ratings and some sponsors, I think they are actually getting better.  I'm a huge WWF mark, and it's to the point where I can't stand to watch WCW even during the commercials of RAW.  Triple H behind the Austin/car angle?  I LOVE IT.  Triple H is right when he says he's the best in the business.  When it's his time to be funny, he's as good as anyone (yes even the Rock) but I have never in all my days seen a wrestler more over as a heel than Triple H.  To top it off, he's one of the only big time stars in the WWF who takes any bumps anymore.  He carries every match he has with the Rock (not knocking the Rock) and anyone else he wrestles with, and he always makes it look good.  Unfortunately, if anyone can drag down a match, it might be Stone Cold.  Steve Austin had a great run with the WWF title, but he has never been spectacular in the ring, (since his neck injury) and because of the neck, can't take any real bumps.  He's looked out of shape since he's been back too and his timing seems to be off...but the fact is, Stone Cold is still Stone Cold.  I'd like to see him do a clean job to Triple H at some point in this feud, and I'm not sure that will ever happen, but it would still be great to see.  Beyond that, The Rock is still good enough on the mic to make even people who aren't wrestling fans laugh.  He's great to listen to, and he does enough in the ring to still make him great.

How about our champion though, Kurt Angle?  I think he deserves everything he's gotten.  He was always a great athlete and has looked good in the ring since he first entered, and his mic skills have improved tremendously.  I give him alot of credit and i hope to God they don't give his title to the Undertaker.  As for the Undertaker, they need to make him the head of a new stable.  He can't carry his own weight in the ring anymore, I'm sorry but he's just not the same, and he really doesn't have the mic skills to make up for the lost ring work.  I also think a change back to the Undertaker of old would be best, but I don't see it happening.

Guys like the radicals, Kane, Jericho, the Dudleys, they are all victims of there just being too much talent to push everyone in the WWF right now.  Kane can't go anywhere until he gets a character who can speak.  End of conversation.  He's never been as dominating as they try to make him look.  He held the title for a grand total of 1 day.  He can't do interviews.  He doesn't do much in the ring.  He's not champion material until they change the character.  Benoit has had a push, but he can't speak well enough to hold a main event angle.  I think he's best served with a manager, or in a group like the radicals where he can let someone else do  the talking.  The Dudleys are one of my favorite teams and I would love to see them placed in an angle somehow with Tazz and Raven (I know, ECW nostalgia) but just any angle would be sufficient.  The tag division is loaded with too many teams to even list here, but I think they are all great, although im sick of Too Cool.  Jericho is still my favorite, but he still just doesn't fit into the mix well right now, he'll have his time though, he's just too damn good not to.

K. Quick (I think that's the name he's using) showed up on heat too, I saw this guy in a Dark match at RAW, and I'm tellin you - keep an eye on him.  He's great on the mic, he's got a great build and he's extremely athletic.  This guy could be a big timer for the WWF down the road.  And my final shout out for the WWF today is to the Right to Censor.  I'm so happy they finally got Stevie Richards an angle, and is he great or what?  I love it and I love to hate them.  It's shaping up to be a good PPV, and I am a big fan of the stable wars they have seemed to be building up to.  I know I'll be watching.

In conclusion...
If you actually made it this far, you should be commended.  You like the article?  You think I suck?  You wanna see the Real Deal spout off in person?  e-mail me here at raw208@... or else email the NWF at wrestlenwf@....  And don't forget to come to STATE PENN this Saturday, November 18th @ 8:30 pm - Live! from the White Building.  Also, if you know anyone who would be interested in sponsoring the NWF, email us at wrestlenwf@... and be sure to check out our webpage at http://www.empusa.net/nwf/.  Thanks again for reading, and I'll see you at the show. - and remember - I'm the Real Deal, and that's the way it is. ~ Real Deal
