Nittany Wrestling Federation presents...
NWF: PAIN STATE UNIVERSITY
Results from Friday, March 24, 2000
by Justin Cryder
The Nittany Wrestling Federation (NWF) presented its latest
free-per-view spectactular, "Pain State University" on Friday, March
24, 2000. The event was held in the White Building on the Penn State
Campus in State College, PA, and once again admission was FREE to all.
At the last NWF event in February, NWF Heavyweight Champion Tommy
Golden lost the title to Dave Desire in the first match of the card. He
asked Desire for a rematch later the same night, and he got his wish.
But Golden had hooked up with the Rutgers Revolution, and they managed
to knock out Desire by smothering an ether-soaked rag in his face.
Golden executed the Pedigree onto the unconscious Desire and got the
easy 1-2-3 to regain the NWF Title.
The NWF executive committee immediately went to work on making a match
that would allow Desire, and also former NWF Champion Yutzak Arafat who
had been screwed out of the NWF Title himself by Golden, to get some
revenge on Golden and the Rutgers Revolution. They devised a special
tag team ladder match dubbed as the "Nittany Lion Ladder Match." The
match would pit Desire and Arafat teaming up against NWF Champion
Golden and University Park Champion Fumar. Both the NWF and UP titles
would be suspended high above the ring. Desire and Fumar would be
eligible to retrieve the UP title, and Arafat and Golden would be
eligible to retrieve the NWF Title. A team would win the match when one
of the members successfully climbed the ladder and retrieved the
appropriate title belt.
Fast forward to March 24, 2000. The show opened with ring announcer Dr.
Dave Parry welcoming everyone to the NWF Arena. He made an announcement
that the NWF's own "Too Phat" Yutzak Arafat would be starring in the
musical "Once On This Island" this coming week. Dr. Dave then
introduced some of the cast members of the musical and said they would
be performing a musical number. As the group was getting to ready
perform, suddenly Tommy Golden's music began to play over the PA system
and Golden, along with Fumar and the rest of the Revolution, came to
the ring. Golden threatened one of the female members of the cast, but
Arafat came down to the ring and was able to chase Golden, Fumar, and
the Revolution away before she was harmed. Arafat was livid that Golden
would try to attack his friends, and said that tonight since Golden
stepped on everyone to get to the top, either he or Dave Desire would
climb the ladder to make sure that either he or Fumar went home
beltless. At this point he introduced his newest Harem Honey, the
lovely Camel Candy. She got on the mic and told Luxurious Lynne from
the Revolution not to interfere with the tag ladder match tonight or
Lynne would have to deal with her.
After Arafat, Camel Candy, and the cast members left the ring it was
time for Wendal's Corner. Mr. Wendal, Pro Wrestling's Original Homeless
Person, made his way to the ring to do his interview segment with
newcomer to the NWF, General Massacre. Wendal tried to interview
General Massacre, but Massacre, who wore a mask and camouflage pants,
refused to answer any of Wendal's questions. Finally Wendal began to
insult and poke fun at Massacre by first calling him Colonel Sanders,
and lastly by questioning his sexual preferences. This made Massacre
flip out, and he began to choke Wendal in the corner of the ring until
Powerhouse Hughes came running down the ring to the rescue.
Hughes and Massacre, two bitter enemies who have had a rivalry across
promotional boundaries, then locked up to fight the latest chapter of
their feud in the NWF. The match was a back-and-forth contest beteen
the two big men, and there were many near-pinfalls that kept the
audience on the edge of its seats. Finally Hughes finished off Massacre
with the seated powerbomb and walked out of "Pain State" victorious
with a win in his first NWF match.
The second match of the evening pitted two more newcomers against each
other as Derrick Destiny took on Little Dixie. The match was a #1
contender's match for the University Park Title, with the match to take
place at the NWF's next event on April 7th, entitled "NWF:
Retribution." Both of these competitors were evenly matched. Destiny
took to using many stall tactics to slow the pace of the match down and
get under the skin of the crowd, but Little Dixie kept his cool and he
was able to finally defeat Detiny and become the #1 contender for the
UP Title.
Up next was the match for the NWF Tag Team Titles. The current NWF Tag
Team Champions "Sterling" Rick Silver and "As Seen on TV" Joe Rules
were making their first defense at "Pain State" as the pair from
Rutgers took on "The Damned." "The Damned" which consists of Draven and
Mad Dog, made their NWF debuts at the last event in singles
competition, but are a very accomplished tag team around the indy
circuits. To add to the mix, Don Juan Desanto was named the special
referee for the match. Desanto had been attacked after his last match
by the Damned, and he didn't waste any time in letting the crowd know
he was on the side of Silver and Rules. Apparently if the revenge
motive wasn't enough for Desanto to try and screw "The Damned" out of
their tag team title shot, then money was as Silver and Rules paid him
a nice sum of money to call things in their favor. "The Damned" had to
overcome every obstacle and constant double-teaming and even
triple-teaming with Lynne getting in some interference. But the pair
hung in there and worked as a team despite the obstacles. Finally in a
shocking suprise, Desanto turned his back on Rules and Silver and
counted the one-two-three as it was "The Damned" who became the new NWF
Tag Team Champions! They celebrated with the titles after the match was
over and then went back to the locker room with Desanto.
Finally it was time for the main event of "Pain State." The teams of
Golden and Fumar, and Desire and Arafat were introduced and they wasted
no time at going at it. The match-up was a Texas Tornado-style match,
meaning no tags were needed, and creating non-stop and chaotic action
both inside and outside of the squared circle. In addition, both
Luxurious Lynne for the Revolution, and Camel Candy for Yutzak Arafat
were present at ringside and taking an active part in the match. The
match saw some incredible moments when Desire shot a plancha on Fumar,
and Arafat followed with a flying clothsline off the top to Golden.
This match was all over the place, and saw all four men attempting to
climb the ladder at various points in the match up. The excitment of
the crowd was at an all time high as Desire hit Fumar with a Forearm
off the top of the ladder while Arafat followed with an elbow from
another ladder. This brutal match continued as it seemed it was
anyone's match. All men desperatly tried to stop thier opponents from
getting a belt. Finally the match ended when Arafat hit "Da Bomb" onto
Fumar on the
outside of the ring, and Tommy Golden was making his way up the ladder.
Desire entered and he and Golden got into it, as Arafat came in and hit
Golden with a chair. At this point both Arafat and Desire began
climbing the ladder, but Golden was able to distract them. At this
point Arafat told Desire to get the belt, and he jumped on Golden and
began pummeling him, allowing Dave Desire to capture the grab the UP
belt, and become the 2nd ever
Triple Crown wrestler in NWF history.

NWF NEWS & NOTES
by Justin Cryder
A special thanks to everyone who attended "Pain State" this past Friday
in the White Building. The crowd was really hot for the show, and there
was not a bad match on the card. You can relive the excitement of "Pain
State" including the "Nittany Ladder Match" at the NWF Website
(http://top-rope.com/nwf) where exclusive pictures from the event are
now online!
Wrestling fans, you have only two more chances to see the NWF this
school year as the next NWF show will be held on Friday, April 7, and
will be called "Retribution." Start time is 8:30, and the event will
take place in the White Building on the Penn State campus. Already the
card has begun to shape as the NWF Tag Team Titles will be on the line
with new champions "The Damned" making their first title defense. Also
preliminary plans have begun to be made for a tournament to crown the
#1 contender for Tommy Golden's NWF Heavyweight Championship. Rumored
participants include "Too Phat" Yutzak Arafat, Don Juan Desanto, and a
returning "Nittany Lion" Nick Mason!
The NWF has also scheduled its final event of the semester and it will
be called "VIP: Very Intense Punishment" to be held on Friday, April
28th. Last year VIP was the biggest card of the year for the NWF, and
it figures to be just as important this year as well. This figures to
be a night where all of the bitter rivalries and feuds of this year
will come to a head. Already confirmed for VIP is a match pitting NWF
Champion Tommy Golden against the tournament winner at VIP. Plus, Dave
Desire will be making his first University Park Title defense against
#1 contender Little Dixie. More matches are sure to be announced as VIP
draws closer. You will not want to miss all of the excitement, all the
pageantry, all the glitz that is VIP!
Among the big rumors flying around the offices of the NWF these days is
that there is heat between Fumar and Referee Tom. It is being said that
the two got into a confrontation after "Pain State" and had to be
separated from each other. It is believed that Fumar took exception to
Referee Tom trying to climb the ladder and retrieve the titles during
the "Nittany Ladder" tag match and had some not-so-kind words for the
NWF official. You may recall that there is a history between these two
men, as Fumar pasted Referee Tom with a brutal chair shot a few shows
back.
NWF "Monday Night Mayhem" set a new listening record this past Monday
with its live broadcast over the internet. The hour-long radio show
which airs at 7 PM on The I: Indigo Radio (http://1indigo.simplenet.com
), is hosted by Alexander the Great and AJ. The record-setting
broadcast featured a recap of NWF "Pain State" plus a preview of
Wrestlemania, as well as a look ahead to Monday Night Raw and Nitro
that night. If you haven't been listening to Mayhem over the internet,
or on campus cable channel 21, what have you been waiting for? ATG and
AJ will be in the studio once again the Monday AFTER Wrestlemania with
what is sure to be a great Wrestlemania recap show, plus the latest
card and information for NWF: Retribution.

WWF STOCKS ON THE RISE
Stocks for the WWF closed at 17 1/8, a 2.24% increase over the previous

MONDAY NIGHT RATINGS
Monday night ratings saw Raw do a 6.6 and Nitro do a 2.6, with a
head-to-head 6.5 to 2.1. The McMahon family stuff did tremendous, a 6.9
quarter for the second half of the beginning segment. The overrun did a
whopping 7.5 record, which is .2-.3 points higher than Meltzer had
predicted earlier on Tuesday. Nitro had a stronger first hour, with its
low point a 1.9 for the Bif Naked video. Its strongest point appears to
be the Flair match at 2.4 head-to-head.
Quarter hour ratings from Dave Scherer were:
Raw -- -- -- -- 6.1 6.9 6.4 6.5 6.6 6.5 6.6 6.9 7.5
Nitro 2.8 2.7 3.3 3.6 2.4 1.9 2.2 2.1 2.3 -- -- -- --

BEING ACOST-ED
by AJ Acosta
Welcome one, welcome all to another brand-spankin' new edition of the
greatest thing to hit the web since the Pam & Tommy tapes… that's
right… it's time once again for Being Acost-ed… with your host, me,
A.J. Acosta. Hold your applause, please.
FEEL THE PAIN
I am still reeling from the incredible event that the NWF once again
held as Penn State… turned into Pain State! Anyway, it was a great
night, with 4 stellar matches that no NWF fan, nay… no wrestling fan
should have missed. The NWF Arena was jam packed with a hot crowd. We
saw four, count `em, four newcomers to the NWF, 2 title changes, 2
ladders, 1 Harem Honey, and bucket-fulls of mayhem.
In our first match we saw Powerhouse Hughes take on 300 plus pounds of
mean stuffed into camouflage and a mask, General Massacre. Massacre who
was just about punk that idiot Mr. Wendall got blindsided by Powerhouse
Hughes, thus starting the match. These two big behemoths tore the place
down, and battered each other, however, it was Hughes that came out on
top after that hard fought battle. Hughes impressed me with his
physicality, but not by his intelligence, as several times through out
the match, Hughes was pre-occupied with trying to take off Massacre's
mask then pin him.
Then we go to our next match, a #1 contenders match for the University
Park Title between two more newcomers, Derick Destiny and Little Dixie.
Don't get me wrong, both these guys impressed me with their speed and
agility, but "Little Dixie?" What the hell kind of a name is that? I
tell ya what, Dixie better change his gimmick if he wants to succeed in
the NWF. Well at least he didn't call himself the opposite of "dixie"
if you smell what I'm baking… or however that stupid saying hoes. I'd
better just leave that unspoken, and leave you to figure out what I
meant by that, or the editor of this rag might PTC me. Regardless,
Dixie won in with what I'm sure was a handful of tights.
Our next match-up saw the NWF Tag Team Champions, Rick Silver and Joe
Rules, take on the team of The Damned. `Twas a good row if I ever saw
one, but through the trickery of special guest referee Don Juan
DeSantos and the meddling interference of "Livewire" Dave Desire, the
Sterling One and As Seen On T.V. were Survivor Series screwed out of
the titles! What a miscarriage of justice! On a side note, throughout
this entire match, my broadcast partner, B-Real was trying to implicate
me with being smitten with Joe Rules' valet, Luxurious Lynn. He's
trying to get me in trouble with Joe! Mr. Rules, if you're reading
this, don't believe B-Real's slanderous lies, I was merely admiring
from afar. It was B-Real who admitted to me his secret passion for the
Luxurious one.
Finally, our main event. The first ever Tag Team Ladder Match where two
singles titles are on the line!! This match was in one word: brutal. I
have never seen anything so violent and physical in my entire life.
This match was inside the ring, outside the ring, in the aisleway…
everywhere! After a while I started losing my precious voice just
trying to announce the action! In the end it saw that deceitful
traitor, Dave Desire grab the University Park title to give his team
the win and Desire the U.P. Title. But it didn't end there as a melee
began involving all four participants of the ladder match, Rick Silver,
Joe Rules and Powerhouse Hughes. But in all the confusion, Tommy Golden
grabbed his NWF Title, and continuing the NWF's Golden Era.
From top to bottom this was a spectacular show, and if you missed it
then go watch WCW since you obviously don't care about quality sports
entertainment. Or at least order the video through the NWF webpage when
it becomes available.
FROM THE "WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING?" DEPARTMENT…
The good news is that Kevin Sullivan and JJ Dillon have been removed
from creative power of WCW storylines. The bad news… Vince Russo and
Eric Bischoff are back. And they're working together. Uh… What? They're
working together? Uh, excuse me… wasn't Russo the guy who, when he
worked for the WWF, would take potshots at Bischoff in his monthly Raw
column, "The Bite". And isn't Bischoff the same guy who criticized the
WWF for having such risqué and adult angles, which, by the way, were
mostly Russo's ideas? Now these two have decided to work together for
the good of the company. Uh right. Pull the other leg. These guys won't
last one Nitro without killing each other. Guaranteed.
But let's say that I'm wrong (which is a rarity, but it has happened
occasionally). Let's say that Bischoff and Russo make love, not war,
and work together. Let's say they even become good buddies. This isn't
exactly the best thing.
Don't get me wrong, Vince and Eric aren't 100% bad. Russo has been
credited with giving the WWF it's "Attitude" formula that's been
prevalent throughout the last 3 years on WWF TV, he's been credited
with resurrecting the WWF's ratings from the dead. But he's also the
one to blame for the current 2 minute match formula going on in both
WWF and WCW. He's also the guy that believes wrestlers have to get over
only on mic skills and throws athletic ability out the window, but The
Hardy Boys, Edge, Christian, Kidman and many others have proven him
wrong. Russo isn't exactly the messiah of wrestling.
Bischoff is no better. Sure he came up with the original nWo, which was
a great angle, and also shipped any Mexican in a mask to the States and
created a stellar Cruiserweight division. Then he let the nWo angle get
stale when at the end of every single Nitro, Hogan, Nash and company
would spray paint Macho Man, DDP, or Luger at yell about being "4
Life." He also unmasked all the luchadores, brought in "the Demon", and
directly STOLE Chavo Jr.'s "Pepe" gimmick from Al Snow.
Oh yeah… these guys'll really turn WCW around…
THE BIGGEST GRANDADDY OF THEM ALL?
Well WrestleMania 2000 is just around the corner and I have to say that
I'm more than a little disappointed. This years WrestleMania is shaping
up to be the biggest dud since WM13… well… OK, maybe not THAT bad.
Regardless, there's only a handfull of matches that I really want to
see, the rest are all bathroom breaks! The main event fatal four way,
the triple threat tag team, the triple threat Euro/Intercontinetal
match… and that's about it. The rest of the matches have been thrown
together. Whatever happened to the old days? Remember back in the 80's
and early 90's on WWF Superstars of Wrestling and WWF Wrestling
Challenge when they'd take a break from the action and have the "Event
Center" part of the program? And then they'd have the "WrestleMania
Report" or the "SummerSlam Report" or whatever PPV was coming up.
They'd add a new match everyweek until the very last week before the
PPV when you'd have the full card. I used to get excited just to see
what match they were going to add next. This year they seem to have
thrown everything together within the last week. Excuse me, but isn't
the whole point of getting you to buy a PPV is to hype the hell out of
it so you'll plop down 30 bucks of your hard earned money? Anyway, this
year's WrestleMania looks to be pretty average as opposed to my
personal favorites which include III, VI, VIII and XIV. Here are my
predictions for the Grandaddy of them all…
LADDER MATCH: Dudleys VS Hardyz VS Edge/Christian (Edge/Christian)
Rikishi/Kane VS X-Pac/Road Dogg (Rikishi/Kane)
Bull Buchanan/ Bossman vs. Godfather/D-Lo (uh… who cares? But, I'll
pick the Bossmen)
T & A vs. Head Cheese (T & A)
Hardcore Title Battle Royale: Crash, Hardcore, Headbangers, Viscera,
Kaientai, Posse, Tazz etc. (I pick Tazz, based just on the fact that
he's the only likely one to get a push)
Cat Fight: The Kat (with Mae Young) vs. Terri (with The Fabulous
Moolah) (Sigh. They have Lita. They have Jackie. They have Tori. They
have Ivory. They have a bunch of women who CAN wrestle, and they give
us a match that is strictly for T & A (no pun intended) purposes. I
don't really care who wins, but I pick the Kat)
WWF Title Fatal Four Way Match: The Rock vs. Triple H vs. Mick Foley
vs. The Big Show (The Rock)
WWF Triple Threat For the IC and Euro Titles: Chris Jericho vs. Chris
Beniot vs. Kurt Angle (Angle keeps both belts)
It's late… I'm tired, and you've been educated enough for one day.
Remember go to www.top-rope.com/nwf for all the latest happenings in
the world of the NWF, and also go to www.angelfire.com/pa/TotalAction/i

It's been your pleasure.
