Runners,

Now that the 2009 Knights of Columbus race has wrapped up, I need to bring your attention to a related matter. Due to a couple different reasons, primarily related to other commitments, I will be unable to continue as RD next year. Thus, I'm going to need find someone to take over the race next year. It is a rewarding position and is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to become more involved with the club.

Given that the Knights of Columbus is our official beginner's race, it would be fabulous if one of the Wahooers would be willing to give race directing a try. That said, it does not have to be one of our beginners. After all, Marty Mazur, past RD, and I, do not qualify as beginners. I would be happy to help out with the race, especially the first year, however, I cannot take the lead next year.

Sure, it is great fun to show up and run a lot of races, but the club needs people to actually plan and direct those races. So, please consider volunteering for this position.

Runners,

As you probably know, the Knights of Columbus race is this Sunday, Oct 11th at 1pm. I'm really in a pinch here with volunteers and need some more people to help out. I have plenty of people available for pre-race registration, etc., but have almost no one for the following:

Timing: Dave Eggler will be out of town and I need someone with timing experience to time the race. We will have Dave's equipment, and Marty Mazur will help out with compiling results, but I need someone to do the actual timing. PLEASE if you have experience doing this, I really need your help.

Finish line helpers: I need some people who can work the finish line, collect tags and assist the timing person...whomever that may be.

Knights Hall: Also very important! I need to have at least one individual who is willing to stay behind and the Knights Hall during the race and keep and eye on things there.

Course Marshalls: I still need about 6 or 7 people to be out on the course showing people the way to go.

If you can help out, please let me know.

I don't mean to distract from the post-mOUnTaiNBACK race day hashing, BUT I NEED YOUR HELP!

The 19th Annual Knights of Columbus State College Adventure 5K Race will be held next Sunday, October 11, at 1 PM, with race day registration starting at 11:30 am.

Volunteers Needed: If you are not planning to run this year's race, please consider volunteering your time to help support this worthy event. I need a couple of people to help with pre-registration. That is from 11:30-1 PM, but if you can only spare an hour, crunch time is between 12-1 PM. I could also use a number of people at some of the turns on the course during the race. There are a lot of turns and last year I needed about 8 people! That would be from about 12:45 to about 2:00. Help with the Kids' Races, which start around 1:45 PM is also appreciated. Please let me know!
