Looks sharp, Jim. Put me down for an XL T-shirt.

So the club has been around since 1972-73, huh? I believe Ralph Wartell was the leading scorer on that team.

NU Ruggers—

As you all know, the club was founded during the 1972-73 school year, so this upcoming school year is the club’s 40th anniversary.  So we put together a commemorative t-shirt:  black cotton t, with the crest on the left front breast, and the NU Logo on the back neck, plus the number “40” on the back, like a player’s number.  (See attached).

The cost is $20 per shirt.  In that number is a $14.50 donation to the club.  You can have any size, so long as it is medium, large, or extra large.  (I don’t know of any small size NU Rugby players—Tez, maybe?).  We can do XX too, but we would have to wait for a re-order.  We would be happy to mail them to you at no extra charge.

Also, the club would like to make a strong showing at next fall’s homecoming parade.  A choir of players and ex-players singing rugby songs?  A demonstration of the Maori Haka?  An NU Rugby Kazoo Band?

We can discuss the potential at the social after the Alumni Match.  Fat Cats—this is our year!  The undergrads haven’t played in three weeks.  They are vulnerable.  Even if you don’t play, please come to hang out.  We will go to the rugby house afterwards (Asbury and Simpson, by the Civic Center).  I will make sure they get a keg of good beer, and I am bringing some mini-burritos from Flaco’s Tacos.

OK - just over one week to go before the annual alumni game. So far we have the following players committed to play.

JJ Darling
Chris Nakutis
Ray Ryan
Schmitty
Bill Leska
John Piotrowski
Adam Steinbrunner
Tony Kosinski
Jim Hebson

If anyone on the list can't make it, please let me know ASAP. Also - we could use a few more bodies - especially would like to see some younger guys out.

We will get time and location as well as the social details out later this week.

Hope to see as many of you out there as possible. It sounds like the club needs some support this year and it would be nice to see the club in good position going into next year (the 40th anniversary year of Rugby at NU).

Any way we can get coverage in the alumni mag? 40 years is a big deal. Can we plug the tailgate and get a good location?

Don’t be a pussy(cat),

Hebby

How about this for a homecoming float:  a 40 foot high Ralphie, bloody knees and missing teeth, with a lever at the back that produces a large erection?

Tez, I don't believe I was listed as a reference when you got that job at USA Rugby.  I could have told them a thing or two.  But congratulations.  NU Rugby will be expecting a lot of perks to flow our way.

Lastly, I will sort out the online payment process in a week or so.  But I will have them for sale at the alumni match.

I'll take an XL too.  Belated decision to go to law school finishes up with graduation during the Alumni game, so I can't get back to Chicago.  I am hopeful that my playing days are not completely behind me; one of these times it will work out...

The y are vulnerable.

Jimmy,

Shirt looks great.  I'm in for an XL.  I'll be there on the 19th - but may have Riley with me.  Any chance Helen might be around and available during the day.  I may check with Lou to see if Olivia might be free as well.  Looking forward to catching up.

I am getting married this summer (even worse excuse than school I know... although I am doing that too) so I have some prior commitments and won't be able to make the game next weekend.  I will see what I can do about Homecoming in the Fall.

Looks sharp, Jim. Put me down for an XL T-shirt.

So the club has been around since 1972-73, huh? I believe Ralph Wartell was
the leading scorer on that team.

NU Ruggers-

As you all know, the club was founded during the 1972-73 school year, so
this upcoming school year is the club's 40th anniversary. So we put
together a commemorative t-shirt: black cotton t, with the crest on the
left front breast, and the NU Logo on the back neck, plus the number "40" on
the back, like a player's number. (See attached).

The cost is $20 per shirt. In that number is a $14.50 donation to the club.
You can have any size, so long as it is medium, large, or extra large. (I
don't know of any small size NU Rugby players-Tez, maybe?). We can do XX
too, but we would have to wait for a re-order. We would be happy to mail
them to you at no extra charge.

Also, the club would like to make a strong showing at next fall's homecoming
parade. A choir of players and ex-players singing rugby songs? A
demonstration of the Maori Haka? An NU Rugby Kazoo Band?

We can discuss the potential at the social after the Alumni Match. Fat
Cats-this is our year! The undergrads haven't played in three weeks. They
are vulnerable. Even if you don't play, please come to hang out. We will
go to the rugby house afterwards (Asbury and Simpson, by the Civic Center).
I will make sure they get a keg of good beer, and I am bringing some
mini-burritos from Flaco's Tacos.

Don't be a pussy(cat),

OK - just over one week to go before the annual alumni game. So far we have
the following players committed to play.

JJ Darling
Chris Nakutis
Ray Ryan
Schmitty
Bill Leska
John Piotrowski
Adam Steinbrunner
Tony Kosinski
Jim Hebson

If anyone on the list can't make it, please let me know ASAP. Also - we
could use a few more bodies - especially would like to see some younger guys
out.

We will get time and location as well as the social details out later this
week.

Hope to see as many of you out there as possible. It sounds like the club
needs some support this year and it would be nice to see the club in good
position going into next year (the 40th anniversary year of Rugby at NU).

Any way we can get coverage in the alumni mag? 40 years is a big deal. Can we plug the tailgate and get a good location?

I would like to order a shirt (large). If you send an address, I can send a check.

I am getting married this summer (even worse excuse than school I know... although I am doing that too) so I have some prior commitments and won't be able to make the game next weekend. I will see what I can do about Homecoming in the Fall.

Jim,

I would like to order a shirt (large). If you send an address, I can send a check.

I am getting married this summer (even worse excuse than school I know... although I am doing that too) so I have some prior commitments and won't be able to make the game next weekend. I will see what I can do about Homecoming in the Fall.

NU Ruggers-

As you all know, the club was founded during the 1972-73 school year, so this upcoming school year is the club's 40th anniversary. So we put together a commemorative t-shirt: black cotton t, with the crest on the left front breast, and the NU Logo on the back neck, plus the number "40" on the back, like a player's number. (See attached).

The cost is $20 per shirt. In that number is a $14.50 donation to the club. You can have any size, so long as it is medium, large, or extra large. (I don't know of any small size NU Rugby players-Tez, maybe?). We can do XX too, but we would have to wait for a re-order. We would be happy to mail them to you at no extra charge.

Also, the club would like to make a strong showing at next fall's homecoming parade. A choir of players and ex-players singing rugby songs? A demonstration of the Maori Haka? An NU Rugby Kazoo Band?

We can discuss the potential at the social after the Alumni Match. Fat Cats-this is our year! The undergrads haven't played in three weeks. They are vulnerable. Even if you don't play, please come to hang out. We will go to the rugby house afterwards (Asbury and Simpson, by the Civic Center). I will make sure they get a keg of good beer, and I am bringing some mini-burritos from Flaco's Tacos.

I'll take an XL too. Belated decision to go to law school finishes up with graduation during the Alumni game, so I can't get back to Chicago. I am hopeful that my playing days are not completely behind me; one of these times it will work out...

Jimmy,

Shirt looks great. I'm in for an XL. I'll be there on the 19th - but may have Riley with me. Any chance Helen might be around and available during the day. I may check with Lou to see if Olivia might be free as well. Looking forward to catching up.

When have the Germans ever been good for their word?  But, if you want, I can order you 2 extra small shirts.

On a serious note, I would like an XL and the smallest size shirt you can make for my son (I guess that would be the medium).

And also - did anyone get details for the game figured out yet?  I'll be there, so we just doubled our chances of winning, but need to know when to be at whatever place is determined so we can get our tactical calls down (i.e. I'm throwing it to Bob).  Most likely this was clearly communicated at some point, I just need special attention every now and then.

Looks awesome!  Don't order through my Argentinean supplier that I used a decade ago.  I'm still getting flack about those polyester jerseys.

I'll take one without a doubt.  Unfortunately I have class on Saturday afternoon (I graduate in June, so that excuse goes away soon!).  So, can you give me a an address to send you a check Jim?  or.... this might be a good reason to get a handful of us to swing by Hackney's Printer's Row and pick up our shirts along with a couple of pints.  My time opens up considerably after June 15th!!!! (graduation)

NU Ruggers

As you all know, the club was founded during the 1972-73 school year, so this upcoming school year is the clubs 40th anniversary.  So we put together a commemorative t-shirt:  black cotton t, with the crest on the left front breast, and the NU Logo on the back neck, plus the number 40 on the back, like a players number.  (See attached).

The cost is $20 per shirt.  In that number is a $14.50 donation to the club.  You can have any size, so long as it is medium, large, or extra large.  (I dont know of any small size NU Rugby playersTez, maybe?).  We can do XX too, but we would have to wait for a re-order.  We would be happy to mail them to you at no extra charge.

Also, the club would like to make a strong showing at next falls homecoming parade.  A choir of players and ex-players singing rugby songs?  A demonstration of the Maori Haka?  An NU Rugby Kazoo Band?

We can discuss the potential at the social after the Alumni Match.  Fat Catsthis is our year!  The undergrads havent played in three weeks.  They are vulnerable.  Even if you dont play, please come to hang out.  We will go to the rugby house afterwards (Asbury and Simpson, by the Civic Center).  I will make sure they get a keg of good beer, and I am bringing some mini-burritos from Flacos Tacos.

Hope to see as many of you out there as possible. It sounds like the club needs some support this year and it would be nice to see the club in good position going into next year (the 40th anniversary year of Rugby at NU).

I'll take a shirt in L, please, for Matt. Preferably to arrive before Father's Day so I can get some credit for it, naturally. We'll be back for Homecoming this fall, and would like to see the old ruggers. Any chance of combining the social with the women alumnae? As I recall, the female undergrads played 5 years ago at Homecoming and didn't let the alumnae know. I don't know who the POC for the alumane is; Liz Entwhistle is surely a good place to start. Liz, are you on this listserv?

Post where to send the check!

Thanks,
Lindsay & Matt Hagerman

All right - we have confirmation from the undergrads for a noon kickoff on
Saturday May 19th for the Alumni game. All players plan on getting there at
least 30 min early to warm up and get organized- you know those old hamstrings
take longer to get warm than when you were younger.

There will be a social afterward at the undergrad Rugby house - food courtesy of
our very own Flaco's Tacos, and beverages supplied by the club.

At some point we will also have the initial Board meeting of the newly formed
"NU Rugby Association, NFP", our local not-for-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c) (3)
charitable organization formed to support local amateur rugby.

For all the local guys - even if you are not playing, it would be great for you
to stop by and watch/socialize a bit.

Hope to see you all out there this weekend!
