I'll throw in my lot with this last comment. Culpepper had two good
years with the Vikes, 2000 and 2005. Other than those years, with 33
and 39 TDs apiece, he never lived up to his potential...he just kept
plugging along with 11-15 TDs, like last year.
Once upon a time, we thought he might be an awesome running QB, at
250+ lbs, but that isn't going to happen now on one-and-a-half
knees. And don't play the loyalty or leadership card re:
Culpepper...that Love Boat debacle showed us what kind of (non)
leader he is and what type of loyalty to our beautiful state he has.
The way to succeed in today's NFL is with a cohesive and dynamic
coaching staff to build a solid defense, an above-average corps of
receivers and an offensive unit that can get the ball down the field
without turnovers. That means a great O-line, a productive ground
game and a QB who doesn't cough up the ball all the time.
Sorry, Duante, but it's time you go pre-retire in Florida. We've got
to back Zygy and Childress, get the games back outdoors, find a way
to empower our running backs, and get back to the Super Bowl!
