It is very important to establish a home for our group. Are we
truly the Northern Vikings' Fan Club or the DC Vikings' Fan Club?
We might even have some MD Viking's fans. In the database section
of our home page there is a contact list. I beg you to please add
your name to the list I have created and tell us in the very least
what town and state to you reside in. If you don't wish to add more
than that then don't.
Why do we need this? Well there have been legimate debates to as
where we might be next year. Will Stars & Stripes deal with the
issue that our group have a big screen projection TV added to the
main section of the restaurant so others can actually have a good
view of the game. There are only a few tables in the restaurant
that have quality views of the game, so in order for us to stay at
Stars & Stripes we need them to help us out. Also for those of you
that didn't know. Stars & Stripes had some money problems last year
and we are honestly not sure whether they can afford another year.
Our group helps them quite a lot, but when football season is over
and done can they stay afloat another year without us? Dana & Sean
have done awesome jobs in giving us a place to go for our group.
They even made up menus and hung our flag outside their restaurant.
Even with that, it is not clear that we can survive their another
year. We have since last year addressed our concerns about another
Big Screen and they have not come through.
So we might be coming to another crossroads in our group. Where
will we be next year? I would like to keep the group together, but
it might be easier with the emergence of Loudoun County population
and westward towns to bring the group back west. It might be easier
to divide the group up into western and eastern groups to give the
Viking's fan a choice to watch the games. There are quite a few
drop offs since we moved from Fast Eddies in Fairfax, but we also
picked up some new fans. Although a fraction in the group will
divide our numbers it might also make us stronger at the same time.
We presently have over 120 members in our Yahoo group list, but we
certainly have more Vikings fans out there that don't want to trek
to the border of DC to watch the games. Is it better for the group
to relocate to where are fanbase is? I think it is. So, where
exactly is our fanbase? That is where you come in. Please go to
the "Database" section then to "Contact List" and add your name(s)
and tell us where you reside. It is very important to the future of
our fan club. Thank you.
For those of you that missed Stu Voigt's appearance you missed out
on a wonderful time. He signed autographs, shook hands, answered
questions and apparently had a great ol' time. It is these times as
a Viking's fan that we cherish the most. Don't fret too long about
the loss yesterday because we aren't done by a longshot. We will
right our ship and get back into position to win our division. What
do you think the Cheeseheads are thinking after getting their ass
handed to them by the Cheesesteaks? Oh,poor Favre's TD run is over,
let us have a moment to of silence. John that was for you bud! :P
See you all next week for the repeat of last year's Seattle game in
Minnesota.
