Okay here it is the weekend after Turkey Day and we really should
give thanks for our 6-4 record. Of course it could always be
better, but we could go into the playoffs limping after losing 3
straight games against the Giants, Colts and Cheeseheads, but we
lost those games early which sometimes is a good thing. Before the
Patriots won on a Super Bowl they started the season off rocky
before they eventually went on a string of 21 straight victories
that surrounded it. Their first game they lost 31-0 against the
Bills who ended up 6-10 and in week 4 against the Redskins who only
went 5-11. The Pats started off 2-2 and rattled off 12 wins to
close their season.
In 2002, The Bucs went 7-2 to finish off their regular season before
winning the Super Bowl. In 2001, The Pats squeaked out playoff
victories against Oakland, Pittsburgh and St Louis, but they
finished the regular season winning 6 in a row and 8 out of the last
9. I could also mentioned how the Ravens as a wild card won the
Super Bowl winning their last 7 games of the regular season and 4
more in the playoffs. Then there is St Louis won finished off their
regular season 10-1 before they won the Super Bowl in 1999.
What am I saying? It takes momentum to win it all. Momentum breeds
confidence. Before we played the Colts, they were a lowly 4-4, now
they have a renewed confidence and are presently 8-4. The Packers
rattled off 5 wins in a row after going 1-4 and looked dead in the
water. An NFL team can change it's destiny at a drop of a hat. We
have a good team here folks. With Moss back, people are very scared
of what we can do. We improve our defense each week, maybe just
maybe we can finish the regular season 7-0 and use that momentum
like the other Super Bowl champs have done. Don't think we can't,
because we definitely can. No doubt the Eagles, the Colts and
Cheeseheads know we can go toe to toe with them and maybe next time
they wouldn't be so fortunate. One fumble on the 1/2 yard line and
an out of bounds juggled catch in Philly. One final drive in Indy.
A fumble with the Packers that never happened.
You put yourself in a position to win, then you are have a chance
each week. The Vikings do that for their fans each week for better
or for worse. 7-0 to close the regular season then let the chips
fall where they may. I will take that momentum any day.
Tip of the Day: drink honey with some green tea it will help your
voice. You will need it for all your singing today. SKOL VIKES!
