Having problems with message search?
Al, Stan, Joel, Novavikes et. al:
I spoke with Dana and Sean during the Superbowl (my wife and I went to S&S ... game was so-so, food was great, missed Janet Jackson). I reminded them that the Novavikes club would like to come to S&S for NFL Draft Day(s). Also told them it was hard to estimate how many people, but I thought we could have between 12 to 25. They are on board!
Suggest we get the word out using the site and get some feedback on numbers. I will go over to S&S in the next week or so to confirm we are coming and to see if they can do anything special. I'll then report back to everyone via this site.
As to the draft ... I know I'm an optomist, but I sense that the Vikes will trade up to get one of the 2 highly rated DE's. Mixon's situation is demanding that something to be done. So ...... why not trade up?
On the other hand, they say this could be the best WR class ever, so I could live with staying at 19 to go for a WR to go with Moss (and maybe Marcus Robinson) ... . There are also some great CB's. But then, the vacuum at DE remains.
I hope the Vikings are not done with free agency either ... could be a few players of value cut on 1 June, and the Vikings are one of few teams that still have lots of money available. Winfield and Robinson (and the punter) will be big improvements, but the team still needs at least one DE, a LB, another CB, a OG (for Dixon) and maybe another WR (Robinson is the latest of the mediocre replacements for Cris Carter .... I fear this one may fail also).
Bottom line -- the Vikings are in a great position given all the money remaining ... now, what will they do with it?

Just to throw out a little predraft theory out for you to debate
about. I keep reading the Vikings were thinking of moving up or down
in the draft to secure a Defensive player of some kind. My theory is
that Red and Tice want to makeup for the last two years and make a
trade to put a smile on the fans faces. I expect them to moveup into
a top draft slot. Don't be too surprised if Denny who is after one
of the top rated QBs, loses out on one of them and decides to ring
the Vikings to trade picks. It is good to have a friend at the top
who Tice is still close with. So when the draft goes down, look to
get to Stars and Stripes early or you might miss the fireworks. By
the way, anyone been in touch with Dana and Sean?
