Re: Let me be very clear on this

OK - but then who is the QB for the Vikes - Sage? T-Jack? Booty? Draft pick and
free agent options are now gone. What is the answer???

Denny Green era where he came in and automatically started older, end of their
career QB's (McManhon, Moon, he wanted Marino, and of course Cunningham).
Cunningham was awesome, yes, but as a back up that came in and threw to a rookie
Moss, Jake Reed and old faithful, Cris Carter after Brad Johnson went down.
Remember the next year?  Minnesota signed Cunningham for big money and he got
pulled to put in back up Jeff George (who finished the year).  The reason Favre
concerns me is that I don't think his whole heart is in this.  I also remember
his last game with Green Bay when he threw the interception that set up the
winning score for the Giants and put the Giants in the Superbowl.  Favre may
help us get to the playoffs but we already know we can do that.  We need a QB
that can stay healthy for a whole season and then get us deep into the playoffs
and hopefully one that will last more than one season.

most MN fans have as well.  I have no issues rooting for our once rival, and I
don't see how it is a slap in the face to MN fans?  The thought of rooting for
another team similar to last year's is dreadful.  Risk and reward my friends.
I think this would be a great fit.  You can't use Favre's stats from last year
as the only indicator of future play.  He was forced to be a constant playmaker
in NY and carry the team.  In MN, we have so many weapons that he would be
asked to carry a much smaller load.  I think it would be really fun to watch,
and think that we could actually have a chance to compete with him.  Having
Peterson is a complete waste of talent if you don't have a passing game.  I
will actually make it to the bar to see the games if Favre's on the team and
they are able to compete - if not I'll just read about all their problems in the
paper every week.

this prospect. The Vikings should have addressed this critical need a long long
time ago. Playing around with the Favre issue indicates that the organization is
not comfortable with Sage or T-Jack to take the helm and apparently Booty is not
close either.

of their career today and all conditions are set for success with the exception
of the QB. The Z-Man can't continue to operate the team while playing in the
Metrodome and needs a new stadium in order to improve the revenue stream.
Clearly, he is not one of the richest owners in the NFL and has most likely
suffered deep losses in his real estate ventures. All the Favre talk and
interest is a sign of true desperation to win now - not tomorrow in order to put
pressure on the tree hugging nuts in Minnesota who don't understand the value of
this team. Therefore, I understand the situation fully and would continue to
cheer for my team with or without Favre at QB - desperate times call for
desperate measures.

simply can't waste more time with his incompetence. Without Favre, we must go
with Sage or take a shot at Booty. Both seem to be reasonably intelligent, show
some leadership traits, and won't run around the field like a chicken with it's
head chopped off.

I will not partake in anything this year if that scum sucking inbred from
Mississippi comes to play for the Vikings other than in a water boy capacity. I
do not understand why the Vikings have entertained the thought, let alone asking
him to play for the purple, gold & white. I just don't get it.

bloody Viking if he is playing for us. I will not be a part of this slap in the
face to all Viking fans. If you think the idea of bringing in this old washed up
QB will bring us a Super Bowl, then all the power to you. I would feel like I
would be selling out to bring in the one guy in the NFL that we as Vikings' fans
have been conditioned to hate. I will not sell my soul for a Super Bowl. I
rather the Vikings have a losing record for the rest of my life than have that
selfish bastard play for us.

will not have to hear anymore news stories on this and I can look forward to
another Vikings' season.
