I have to say that the Favre issue has me concerned. It reminds me of the Denny Green era where he came in and automatically started older, end of their career QB's (McManhon, Moon, he wanted Marino, and of course Cunningham). Cunningham was awesome, yes, but as a back up that came in and threw to a rookie Moss, Jake Reed and old faithful, Cris Carter after Brad Johnson went down. Remember the next year? Minnesota signed Cunningham for big money and he got pulled to put in back up Jeff George (who finished the year). The reason Favre concerns me is that I don't think his whole heart is in this. I also remember his last game with Green Bay when he threw the interception that set up the winning score for the Giants and put the Giants in the Superbowl. Favre may help us get to the playoffs but we already know we can do that. We need a QB that can stay healthy for a whole season and then get us deep into the playoffs and hopefully one that will last more than one season.

I completely agree - I have always enjoyed watching Favre play, and I think most MN fans have as well. I have no issues rooting for our once rival, and I don't see how it is a slap in the face to MN fans? The thought of rooting for another team similar to last year's is dreadful. Risk and reward my friends. I think this would be a great fit. You can't use Favre's stats from last year as the only indicator of future play. He was forced to be a constant playmaker in NY and carry the team. In MN, we have so many weapons that he would be asked to carry a much smaller load. I think it would be really fun to watch, and think that we could actually have a chance to compete with him. Having Peterson is a complete waste of talent if you don't have a passing game. I will actually make it to the bar to see the games if Favre's on the team and they are able to compete - if not I'll just read about all their problems in the paper every week.
