Yeah Joel, I don't get it. I mean how can one have the "greatest Vikings games"
packaged up and not include those butt kickings the Purple People Eaters
administered to the Rams in the playoffs at frozen Met Stadium not to mention
the 1969 NFL championship game (the last year pre-merger) where the Vikes
stomped the Browns 27-7 in a game that included Joe Kapp hurdling and knocking
out Browns linebacker Bob Houston. I was 14 at the time and remember it quite
well. Nothing the Vikings have accomplished since compares to this era, the
Super Bowl losses notwithstanding.

the Purple People era. For those of us that grew up watching the Vikings. The
late sixties thr0ugh the late 70's was a very important time for the NFL and for
our beloved Vikings. How can you not have a least 1 game that happened when
they played outside on the frozen tundra at Met stadium? Remember, Tarketon
scrambing around, Chuck Foreman a good sized back with great hands and great
moves "The original spin doctor." Paul Krause's 81 pics still the best in
history, Marshall's Ironman streak, Page,Eller,Marshall, all meeting at the
quarterback. Page 1st defensive player to be named MVP. Tingelhoff and Yary
perinial All-Pro players, Matt Blair blocking kicks...Joe Kapp...Two minute
Tommy...I can go on. But for some reason the media seems to diregard this
historic era for many very good teams other than the Steelers,Dolphins, and
Raiders...I guess no rings no love...
