I thought the list for the greatest games of the Vikings really misses out on
the Purple People era. For those of us that grew up watching the Vikings. The
late sixties thr0ugh the late 70's was a very important time for the NFL and for
our beloved Vikings. How can you not have a least 1 game that happened when
they played outside on the frozen tundra at Met stadium? Remember, Tarketon
scrambing around, Chuck Foreman a good sized back with great hands and great
moves "The original spin doctor." Paul Krause's 81 pics still the best in
history, Marshall's Ironman streak, Page,Eller,Marshall, all meeting at the
quarterback. Page 1st defensive player to be named MVP. Tingelhoff and Yary
perinial All-Pro players, Matt Blair blocking kicks...Joe Kapp...Two minute
Tommy...I can go on. But for some reason the media seems to diregard this
historic era for many very good teams other than the Steelers,Dolphins, and
Raiders...I guess no rings no love...
Anyway enough of a rant. So if anyone else has an opinoin or wants to post some
memories from this era, please do so.
Anyway even with this era in Vikings history being ignored by the people who
made the DVD. I'm sure I'll have a few copies for the raffle this season..
