Well this group leans on the quiet side when it comes to posting or
responding to messages. We usually let our voices be heard at
gametime. If you would like to post messages, I wholeheartedly
encourage the banter here. All the newbies to the group I welcome
thee to the NOVAVIKES and hope you come on down to Stars & Stripes
Restaurant for each game the Vikings play. We have raffles, sing on
each and every TD(song is listed in the files section) and purple is
mandatory. We will announce tailgate information in the near future
for the Skins game for those coming to the Vikings Opening Monday
Night game at 7pm.
Now the question is what is the most important part of training
camp? When you restructure your entire coaching staff, the most
important thing is how the players respond to the new coaches. Yes
we need the Olde Tymer to dig deep to give us a chance to compete.
Yes we need the defense to step up with the new Tampa-2 Defense.
Yes, we need the new West Coast offense to be run efficiently. There
is a lot we need to get accomplished here folks. It is all new to
most of these guys, and the coaches are all in new positions too. We
by all means shouldn't expect too much, but as fans we usually have
high expectations. I think we can compete with the schedule we have,
but the beginning will be rough and we could start off 0-4.
We have a "weak" division and if things go as they did last year it
might go the same way to the Bears. I believe defenses are made to
be broken and the way the Bears finished the season, I believe the
Bears will be going backwards this year. The Packers have to be
better because of all the injuries last year, but they really are as
good as Brett Farve. Detroit will always be Detroit, enuff said.
Training camp is a learning step, as is the preseason games, but
until they play on September 11 against the Skins, we won't know how
well all the puzzle pieces fit into this new jigsaw.
