Welcome to the Group Andrew. I hope to see you come down to Stars &
Stripes this upcoming year.
My opinions on the Daunte trade was it was a big mistake. I will give
Childress all the time in the world to put his stamp on the team, but
it might be a while before we make another run at the Super Bowl. We
might be a playoff team, but you don't take a 38 yr old QB who is 1
year removed from sitting on the bench as the 3rd QB option in Tampa
and make him your starter. If you trade a Pro Bowl QB you need to get
something back for him. Getting a middle 2nd round pick is
ridiculous. As was evaluating a Division II QB as a late 2nd round
pick to be your future. Now that is not a knock on T. Jackson, but on
where they took him and the position it now puts the franchise in. We
have to rely on an aged QB who might not have much left. I hope he
does, but I am worried that he might be the reason our opponents load
up in the box to make him beat them.
Jackson is raw, and needs a lot of work, but the potential is there.
How long will we have to wait before he takes over. 3 years if we are
lucky. So, we have Brad for 3 years? Do we change up each year? I
wish they had kept Culpepper, let him show he is healthy, and if they
still wanted to trade him, they would have at least gotten a 1st round
pick for him in return. I am 100% behind my Vikings, I just would
have done things differently. Childress might be one helluva coach in
the making and I hope he is, because at QB we need all the help we can
get. Can't wait for opening day though!
